I found Supreme Commander Forged Alliance a week ago for like...3$ and i bought it because i like strategy games , but i havent tried it till now.
Is there something that you can reccomend me on the races and gameplay?
Ummmm no not really but avoid the campaign I personally found it incredibly boring. I just practiced on skirmishes, and these days I hold lil matches over hamachi. Wait one tip is be weary that you can upgrade a lot of things you wouldn't think you can upgrade (it's kind of discreet) like radars and mass extractors and commanders. Not sure if that was obvious or not but I didn't know for a good while.
I actually wondered was there a thread about this game and I'm rather surprised to see one pop up today.
Anyhow, I just own the normal copy of the game and having quite hard time to get my hands on a copy of Forged Alliance, so downloaded version has to do for now.
But i prefer to keep my game modded with some extra units that aren't OP or such.
One such mod would be the BlackOps Commander addons.. You can make that hunk of junk something useful at least.
My own method of playing the game is rather Turtle based till i got my economy up for somewhat fast production of Experimental units. I find UEF to be better at this then other's, formidably because of their Tier 3 Point Defense turrets.. 10 - 20 can seriously whimper any experimental.. Add on the better commander that can actually now stand toe to toe against a Monkeylord if you got him built right.
I actually played the campaign through as Cybran to get used to the game... Normally you do that at Skirmish but for some reason i just did the campaign.
But probably the only weakness of the UEF is the ridiculously weak experimentals or in some cases very unlikely to be used or massive production time / cost.. single monkeylord can take on about 2-3 fatboys with ease, even though FB's got the longest range of all standard experimentals (leaving Mavor and the Cybran rapid arty one out), it does very little damage. Not to mention the reduced accuracy of the guns in FA.
Also Mavor takes years to build.. Probably costs most of all experimental's to build. (was it roughly 20x mass of a Fatboy to build one), not to mention the extra defenses it needs to stay alive longer then 5 minutes. (quadruple shield is my standard).
Atlantis then... Submersible carrier is nice but it also takes decades to fill the cargo hold with planes. If one manages to fill it though with T3 tactical bombers.. Should be more then enough to nuke that opposing team's commander to abyss with single pass.
The Atlantis is nice, it's cheap and builds fast and takes down most ships nicely. Also I haven't tried this personally but I've heard you can kite with the fatboy to take down most other land based experimentals.
