SWAT 4 is an old game from Sierra(not too old,since it was released in 2005) .
The story began when you(plays as the Boss) were transferred into SWAT Units in L.A.,when the chaos always happens by gangsters and terrorists .
Your tasks are many,includes rescuing hostages,mopping up the terrorists,and investigating cases .
You'll get 4 buddies in an operation,splitted into Blue and Red team,which have some special abilities .
Also,there are many great weapons with special specifications to take down hostiles,like FMJ Bullets for armored hostiles and JHP Bullets for taking down gangsters .
But,in this game,killing hostiles is not the way to finish the mission .
Killing hostiles without reasons will make your score decreased .
So,what do you think about this game?

Played this game back when it was first released.
It's damn hard to get a perfect score without dying on harder settings.
My weapons of choice are: Shotgun with beanbag rounds, Taser, flashbangs and tear gas grenades.

yeah,harder difficulty will make gangsters and terrorists react faster and they'll guard doors.
That's why I choose paintball than beanbags.
Also,tear gas grenades are effective at some missions .

I found the paintball gun crap as it didn't do much to subdue the terrorists :|
Shotty with beanbags work best just pump them with lots of rounds.

if you're using paintball,try to hit their head .
Paintball is non-lethal,unlike beanbag,which is less lethal .
Btw,have you ever killed hostiles with breaching shotgun?

I usually play it by my own path.
It's much more interesting than just copying from someone's tactic

Yeah true but the paintball gun you have to go for the head which is a smaller mass to hit, therefore much less effective when you're in a rush and being shot at with actual guns.
The beanbag rounds are less lethal rounds but they can't kill terrorists so you can still get a full 100% score with it.
And yes I have killed a terrorist with the breaching shotgun once.

Paintball << Less Lethal Shotgun .
It happens in early missions until the end .
I love using paintball in High Risk Warrant Service missions,except in the mission where 'mad people' is in a house and I have to finish them .
In that case,I go with my Less Lethal Shotgun and CS Gas .

I usually go with lethal weapons. It doesn't subtract your score if you kill someone who raises their gun at you, so I usually gas them and see if they'll come peacefully or not.
It sometimes just winds up like a draw, when they aim at me, I shoot them first.

Yeah,but CS Gas won't work in some missions,so I choose flashbang .
Also,it's a normal reaction if you saw a hostile and suddenly you kill them before they raise their gun .
That's why I go with paintballs and less lethal shotguns .

True so I usually replace CS Gas with smoke instead.
I don't use the UMP it kicks a bit too much, but the stopping power is great and it doesn't over-penetrate too much, fire rate is much to be desired though...
It has lots of control thanks to that low rate of fire which could be useful in certain situations I guess...

I don't know about it .
About the UMP,I think it's good for beginners and for lethal officers,since it's good for kicking some guys .
