Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment (ソードアート・オンライン －ホロウ・フラグメント－?) is a video game based on the Sword Art Online light novel series. It is the second video game in the series, the first being Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment. The game was released in Japan on April 23, 2014 and Taiwan/Hong Kong on May 29, 2014, and is scheduled for an English release in North America on August 19, 2014 and for Europe and Australia in August 20, 2014.

The game takes place in the same continuity as the prior game in the series, Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment, which exists in an alternate storyline from the Sword Art Online anime storyline. The player controls the main character Kirito, who has been trapped in a MMORPG where dying in the game will lead to his death in real life as well. Part of the game is actually a high definition recompilation of Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment, the original game in the series released for the PlayStation Portable.

For Europe and Australia, it’s going to be on the third week of August particularly on the 20th and for North America, it’s going to be a day earlier, August 19, 2014.

This announcement was made after revealing the wicked Laughing Coffin and the brand new character PoH.


Included in the announcement of BANDAI NAMCO Games Europe is the introduction of some of the characters who would be in the Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment, namely:

†¢ Yui used to be the players’ Mental Health Counselling Program, MHCP0001. She was rescued by Kirito and Asuna for some reason. She is attached to them ever since and calls them “Papa” and “Mama”


†¢ Agil is an indispensable reliable player for the Assault Team. He supports Kirito as a merchant to collaborate with the Assault guild. He recently opened a shop in “Arc Sofia” on the 76th Floor and supports Kirito and the Assault Team.

†¢ Klein is the skilled leader of the guild, “Furinkazan” and participates in the Assault Team. He is also an old friend of Kirito ever since the first log in to “SAO” and likes his elder brother.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment for Europe and Australia will come exclusively for PlayStation Vita (PS Vita) on PlayStation Network only.

I really do not know how to feel about this game.

That'll be on my to get list when I get a vita. But shit, there are still games I haven't beat on my original psp.

Q3 is a long season. Lucky it not sept. Also i rather have this in physical form. Digital download are sketchy unreliable corruptible on those shit cards.

I thought I read something that said it was to be released July, then I saw Q3 on their website and I got worried.

This only on PSP or consoles?

I hope the youtube video doesn't do the game justice graphically wise cause it looked a little weird. I was thinking it would be a fighting game, but glad they stuck to the idea the game and made it what a turn based RPG? Not sure if I would get it though with so many games I want coming out in September and October hard to send extra 50-60 dollars on a game I might like.

Despite I would like to play it, the graphics are kind of bad, even for Vita, and since I do not own a Vita and I do not intend to get any other games for it, I might very well pass on this one too.

Ps vita only and the youtube and op pics are up rez by the blog group i stole the op from. The graphics on the jp version is better on my vita at least from i can see with half rotten eyes.

I'm going to import the English/Chinese version.

fyi, there are spelling and grammar errors on the Chinese import. Don't know if that's a big deal for those interested in importing it.

Currently playing in sickness and pain. Ogres challenge is harder then i remember.

Can't wait to play this and not waifu Asuna. I barely remember the little I watched from the anime so I hope it won't be too complicated.
