So it came out today, downloaded it and had a fiddle around with it. It's ok, but to be honest I like the old dashboard.
Anyway, what are your thoughts on this?
P.S. Those of you on my friend list. No, I'm not a short fat black man with a white afro, a bright yellow mustache and pink markings painted on my face. Though I would quite like that monocle
Lolz, I was gonna do a thread about this but I forgot... anyway, tis alright but i think it's more confusing now even though it was made to be less confusing... go figure. I like the old one better but it's alright. There's a few problems with it but that'll get fixed. I just played around with the avatars... mine's a big ass fat black with with dreads so... no, I don't look like that... next i'll make a fat chick, just cuz I'm bored...
I like it, I just can't shake the most likely true feeling that it was made in retaliation to PSHome and the Wii interface. Which seems to be all that Microsoft has been doing lately, reacting (instead of innovating) to the marketing decisions of its rivals.
It's ok but they sent out an unfinished product. Half of the stuff doesn't work yet, things are already starting to screw up, and profiles can't share things with each other any more. I don't want to have to buy the same content just so I can use it on a different profile. It also looks too much like the wii.
I was over at my friends house today and he was hating the new interface like there's was no tomorrow. I didn't get to see it that well because we were playing games but it did remind of the Wii.
I can see why MS did that. They gotta cater to the casual market somehow and well all know they're suckers for avatars and crap like that. That's where most of the money in the industry is.
Its interesting how they tried to add on ps3 idea of installing games into harddrives for faster loading speads, but there's one big problem, Hardrive space ><. I'm pretty sure people out there with a standard 360 have the 20Gig, so how are we gonna fit our games into it when they usually take up to 9 gigs. The only people who may actually benefit from this are thoes 360 elites with 120G which frankly I dont have the cash to get another 360.
Nice try Microsoft, but its the thought that counts I guess
