Xbox 360 New Or Used.

Okie Dokie.
I have a question and i wanna see waht you guys think would be my best chose.
Ok so i gots me a job (YAY) and i am thinking about buying Xbox 360 since i sold my ps3 cause of the damn 2 week maintence.
So here is the problem.
i could get a brand new xbox 360 at wal-mart for $299 (Plus tax) Or get a used one at Gamestop for $199 (Plus tax).
So here is what im worried about. All you people that have an Xbox 360 know what the RROD is (Red ring of death) and im worried that with the xbox i get from Gamestop could have that since its used and all. But Gamestop ALWAYS makes sure the Consule run and plays games or they would not sell it.
So the one at Wal-mart would come with
WAL-MART: Consule, Harddrive, controllers, and everything to start it.
GAMESTOP: Consule($149) Harddrive($50) And as far as the controllers and the other shit idk if it would come with it or if i would have to buy it separately.
So has anyone bought an Xbox 360 from Gamestop? If so what all did it come with?
So all i wanna know is what you guys think would be the best chose to pick.

Always get it new imo. Never take any risk

It's my advise NOT to get any electronics second-handed.
Even GameStop's 'refurbishing' is:
1) checking if they work, 2) taking apart for any anomalies (dirts, etc) in the consoles, 3) put them back together with warranty seals, and 4) repackage and resell.

Brand new because you'll be denying yourself the pleasure of that 'new system smell'.

New things just smell so damn good and you WILL feel cheated if you dont get it brand spanking new!! (Trust me) ;)

Don't try and get a used/pre-owned/refurbished original Xbox360. Those had hardware issues and were hit and miss prone to bricking.

Maybe, MAYBE, you could safely get a used Slim but then you are left with whatever treatment the prior owner has put upon it.

I have no problems with a refurbished XBox. You just have to make sure what you're getting and do a little research.

If you're getting one of the really old ones, then those may RROD. However, the newer systems have been fixed of that problem. I bought a used XBox and that thing is still going strong after a couple years.

However, the plus side of a new system is that it does come with a warranty or something or other. Used systems only allow you 30 days.

All your Asnwers helped me figure out that getting a new one would be better.
Cuase i have NO idea if they are the older or newer models. i could get a really old one and then be fucked out of $200+ and Gamestop would be all like "HAHAHAHA SUCK TO BE YOU! U Mad Bro."
So yea i think paying just a tad bit more for something that is new and possible a better version of the Older model Xbox 360's.

Dead Space [Lights off is mandatory]

Dead Rising [its like a comedy version of resident evil]

Space Giraffe [if its still on the marketplace for that matter]

Oh Call of The Dead is really nice but I think you need to get black ops first to get it

Red Dead Redemption is worth picking up. Especially the Undead Nightmare pack. Orange Box is also recommended as well as the Mass Effect games. You also have Dead Island coming out in the future, so look forward to that as well.

Always brand spanking new and don't get the used one there one at gamestop that cost 199.99 heres the link right here

Eh 8.4 Rating. Thats not that good.. there is liek a -1.6 that is will be a fail and get the RROD.
So yea im geting the New one when i get teh chance and yes i heard about Dead Island.
That game looks AMAZING (Well from the preveiws i saw) and i was a hardcore Dead Space 2 fan so i might check out the other Dead Spaces! :D
And sorry im not really a Final Fantasy fan. i played one for the PSP and it was that not great And my cousin had one for the Ps3 and he said it sucked dick since it was staight fighting and no adventure.
But Assassin Creed is coming out with a new one.
That would seem pretty exciting to get your hands on! :)

There is a promotion by Microsoft coming out soon if you are buying a new computer you get a free 360(4gb) with it there are certain restrictions to it, but you know google it.

If i bought a xbox it would be new,a used one would be begging for a rrod/rdot.I will NEVER buy used items.you never know how the previous owner was like with thier property.

i hear that. Cause with mine i just dropped it once and it scratched the edge of it and left a dent in my floor xD
But they still took it and it worked like a charm.
Also true what you said. cause if i just dropped mine they could have dropped theirs several times and done some other shit to it. :/
