I haven't been able to write something in so long that I...wrote something about it. Wait. Huh?
An empty page has become familiar
Like the omnipresent stranger on the bus
Can't seem to shake the feeling in my chest—
That I've done something wrong
I lie awake under aged stucco
The glow of the screen on my face
The white screen
The blank page
It used to always have something,
but now it's changed
Have I?
My heart is warmer
Head seems emptier
Or focused
On regrets and love
On golden hair and a smile
No room for stories anymore
Just pitiful poems of lament
I want to stop it
To walk up to the stranger and say
Hello
But they stare through me
I turn and look out the window
To see what caught their attention
And it's Daniel
Trying to save Dan's life
With a story

Did you just write something that implies why you haven't been writing? An interesting insight on your life if that is what is intended.
After the third stanza, it feels like another tale is brewing. Not entirely sure what to make of it, though. The reference to Daniel and Dan can imply a lot things, perhaps your family, or friends, or even yourself. Nonetheless, for what little is written it certainly gives off a lot of atmosphere, a dark and/or lonely one at that, as if the man in the poem is searching for redemption... but the question is, assuming that I'm correct, for what?

Yes this is venting, the same thing I am so usually against, so I suppose I am a hypocrite. The third stanza makes sense to friends who have known what's been going on, but it's simply the condensed version of my past six or seven months. Whole lot of stuff going on, none of it good. Not trying to complain aloud with the poem or this, just trying to outline what gave rise to "A Story"
