She says, she says
"No it doesn't hurt,
Not at all, not at all".
But her eyes are drowning
You turn the other cheek
And bite your lip
Why?
He looks down, down
At the ground
Eyes not searching, not searching
For anything at all
You lower your head
To avoid the darkness within him
Why?
You clench your fists, your fists
Falling. Screaming. Bawling.
And crying rivers, rivers
They smile brightly
And pat your back,
"It's okay, we're here for you".
Why?
Glancing back on the past and remembering my experiences was a bit bittersweet.
This poem is just one of those experiences.
