its two in the morning and i lie awake with shortness of breath; the cold air has constricted my lungs and i need air. there has been signs of disease in the next town colombsworth-- three fell and many are afraid to contract the same fate. whenever i hear such news i don't care too much for it-- as much as i want to care i don't. these events compel me to think about my own mortality; im past the age of youth and i may have several more decades but i guess we prolong this struggle because we understand lifes fleeting nature, that one moment we'll be in conversation, and the next, we will be gone from ones landscape of encounters, to begin new chapters, or to close the book.

Well, I think some of those errors might be intentional since it's in diary form. I mean, I is uncapitalized consistently, so that might be the case?

However, Mibu's right. Not that you should stop making these, but that you should compile them in one thread and edit in new diary entries when they arrive. Feel free to post in that thread when you add a new one. That's the typical etiquette we follow in this section, at least if you plan to make more.

There's no reason to keep them all in one single post as they're all separate works, that are irrelevant from one another.

It's still the way things are done around here. If you're going to be making frequent posts of things you've written especially bite-sized pieces likes this, you really should put them all in the same topic. Would you like it if your work got bumped off the first page before anyone had a chance to see it because someone else made multiple topics all in the same day?

Aside from being considerate toward the other members of the community, consider the benefits you stand to gain from doing this. You post a knew piece, and suddenly your old stuff has been bumped for people to get a second chance to look at it.

FYI, you can change the title of a topic at any time by editing the opening post.

Never mind. There used to be an option to edit topic titles. I checked just now and couldn't find it. I'll look more into it. Even with the absence of this option though, I stand by what I said. I believe the Writing Section Etiquette thread suggests making a topic called "Short Stories by Me" or something like that.

EDIT: Found it. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page. If you're in a topic you made, you should see an Edit option right next to a Delete option. That's where you want to go. This change was apparently implemented sometime back around September. I can't believe it's been that long since I last edited a topic title. Well, then again, I guess I don't make topics that often.
