"Jumper" and "Old Crow" - critique of my short story writing

So every so often I write short stories in addition to random poetry that I like to write. I wrote one earlier today after the idea popped into my head, and I wrote another back in June, and I thought I'd ask for some polite constructive criticism on my short story writing. I've written poetry for over 10 years now, however short story writing has been something I've attempted frequently in the past but never really shared.

This time around I really feel like pursuing short story writing, eventually leading up to novels. Let me know what you think, any feedback is helpful.

Also the stories are VERY short, so no worries if you aren't into heavy reading.
