A while ago, when I was waiting at the train station I suddenly thought of the most insane idea of all time. No one has actually attempted to rewrite kamen rider decade because of how the approach to tokusatsu has become marketed more on children, thats where I come in. Attempting to rewrite a whole series is pretty tough. So what I will do is just rewrite the first story arc more or less you could say a prologue story to turn Decade marketed more for men, something similar to Kamen Rider Kuuga.
-What I will leave as it is-
-The majority of the cast (including Natsumi and Narutaki, but forget Grandpa...because I hate him)
-And the kamen rider cards idea and other action aspects
-The Story-
Forget all the stuff about a rider war or the other foreshadowing brought up in the start of the episode.I wanted to make Decade as ambiguous as possible by first of all, familiaring the newer audience of the early 2000s kamen rider such as Kuuga and the others.
We start with Godai Yuusuke coming back from his long vacation, because by the end of the Kuuga series, Yuusuke's rider belt and all grongi has already been destroyed. He decides to go back to Japan only to find that strange murders have occurred once again, along with it things like the shaking mirrors (from kamen rider Ryuki), strange new genetic purple butterflies and also meeting people who ran away from him with the famous Orphenoch morph faces (both of these from Kamen Rider Faiz)
By the end of the 'first episode' I wanted to bring up the idea of a new threat, and also the idea of a malfunction in the center of the multiverse being Kamen Rider Decade's mutation into something different from the original concepts of kamen rider. All of this will be mentioned by Narutaki and he will also be given the kuuga belt but however, Yuusuke refuses to hone the dark powers again as it corrupted him last time.
In order to make Yuusuke understand the crisis that has begun to unfold in his world, I wanted Narutaki to forcefully transport Natsumi and Yuusuke to the Agito world. This is a homage to some beliefs that Agito and Kuuga are in fact worlds of indirect connections, being that Agito represents the power of light and Kuuga being darkness. Of course, after reaching the world, we finally see the first glimpse of Decade as he slowly fades into another world. But as he leaves, we see that all hell has broken loose. Unknowns (the monsters in Agito) have begun to destroy most of the city. Yuusuke wears his belt and fights past them and we see that Agito has already fallen. Narutaki sends both Yuusuke and Natsumi who now understands the evil they face.
Now the idea is to build some suspense as to the motives of Decade because each time Yuusuke and Natusumi enters a world, they will only be left with clues as to who or what is he. They will only know that Decade is corrupting the multiverse
What makes this story different from the original?
I wanted to make it a more grim approach to the story and make it a lot more serious instead of having Tsukasa or Yuusuke do stupid things once in a while. And to mention the stupid idea of turning Kamen Riders into fucking beetles or hover bikes just to sell toys. There were very good moments in Decade that I thought could have been an ongoing theme but sadly the producers just made Decade far too strong, he really doesn't need help from other riders seeing he could turn into other riders.
So, what is actual motivation of Decade?
Later on in the story they gradually get to know more about Decade through sometimes fighting him or helping him in battle. There will be worlds that would be destroyed as a result of Decade's actions but it would gradually understand what is the bigger picture of what's going on.
In the story, the center of the multiverse (lol, DC reference) is Decade's universe. As it is the world where there is absolutely no kamen riders and not evil organisation. You could say its the reality of the world. Decade is really not the destroyer of worlds as each world has in fact, a balance of good and evil. But the real twist is that in fact, it is the center of corruption because it is controlled by the evil organizations who discovered that all the kamen rider powers and technology came from this world. Tsukasa is simply a manipulated pawn who was shown the darkness and death of all the multiverses and his naivety thinks that if he destroyed all the evil it will bring salvation. But in actuality makes it even more vulnerable for the kamen rider. This is because the real evil forces are always one step behind Decade, taking over the worlds as he destroys them. The idea that Decade is the destroyer of worlds is true in some respects and the rider war is to unite the riders to not fight Decade, but the forces that have been fighting behind him.
I think this is a better approach to how the kamen rider concept could be renewed. And also because of how I hated the usage of CGI effects and very badly written scripts all over the place.
