I'll admit I was surprised when I logged on and noticed another contest was up and going.
Had to rush a little bit but I couldn't pass up an opportunity to participate again.
Whether victory comes or eludes me nothing better than sitting down and forming a story, something I haven't done in a little bit.
After some altering I'm at 1,500. Cut it really close. Hope you enjoy now how do I put this thing on here again....

“Summer is the time for adventures and love!”
These were the words Marco had said, the man sitting next to him his slightly tan skin seeming to glint in the sunlight along with his toothy grin.
His friend Marco had mentioned going to the beach and somehow got Hari, one of their classmates, to come along.
Seeing Marco’s tan he said he had seen enough sun but Marco quickly declined him and told him he wanted to see more with Hari.
Yuki had apricot skin and didn’t like getting tanned thus he avoided beaches; on top of that he hadn’t cut his blond hair as he had intended for the summer.
Yuki looked over at Nai another classmate, a girl that barely passed five feet and was in a blue one piece swimsuit
She was skinny and had some curve to her which caught him off guard when he saw her swimsuit.
She had short red hair that stopped at the top of her back, and long bangs that covered her eyes.
He found out why she kept her bangs long when he spoke to her; she was a heterochromia, her left eye was brown while her right one was red.
He ended up staring the first time he had seen it, which made it even more awkward to ask her to come along.
Seeing Nai with him upset Marco, but Yuki disregarded it since it saved him from being his wingman as he tried to flirt with Hari.
He looked over at Hari who had come in a two piece red bathing suit and had a towel wrapped around her waist.
She was six feet and was a few inches taller than he was.
She reached up and moved her brown hair out of her face as a breeze blew by.
Her long hair stopped near the bottom of her back and earlier he had locked eyes with her unintentionally causing him to see her hazel eyes.
Hari had a slim figure and luscious curves that Marco said befitted such a mature woman.
He said luscious was going a bit far only to get slapped in the back of the head again.
Yuki looked over at Nai who was in the middle of building a sandcastle; she got pulled away from it by Hari before the two ran off towards the ocean.
“Isn’t she wonderful Yuki? Hari has to be perfection personified. You didn’t have to bring Nai though she’s so….weird.”
“I felt a little bad for her,” Yuki said looking back at Nai. “She was sitting alone on the bench at school in the middle of summer vacation, in her uniform no less. I invited her along since she didn’t have anything else to do.”
“Well Hari is here and that’s all that matters. Think about it Yuki this is like one of those doujins on Fakku,” Marco said resting his chin in his hands. “Everything always goes well in those stories whenever they go to the beach.”
“This is reality Marco; such things don’t happen here.”
“That’s your problem you don’t have hope, I swear one day you’ll thank me for-”
Marco cut himself off as his eyes widened causing Yuki to turn towards the girls.
The other inhabitants of the beach turned towards the ocean to see a giant shadow rise from the water.
Water cascaded off a giant cylindrical robot as it fully rose from the ocean, and towered over the beach.
The robot eyes lit up before two long red beams came out of his eyes and slammed into the beach causing small explosions.
“What is that?!” Yuki said standing up.
Hari looked over at Nai who dropped the water in her hand.
“Nai get ready!” Hari yelled back at her.
Hari’s body let out a bright blue glow before multiple golden lines ran up her body and along her arms and legs.
She looked up at the creature before jumping up to its head and kicking it.
Nai jumped away from the creature before a white glow surrounded her hands as her eyes let off a slight glow.
Nai raised her slender fingers into the air before snapping them.
The snap resonated before a large blue field surrounded the beach forming a dome of crackling energy.
She snapped her fingers once more causing the other inhabitants of the beach to pass out.
A black pistol formed in her hand before she raised it and started firing at the robot.
“The hell is going on?” Yuki said looking over at Marco.
To his surprise Marco had his fist clenched and he was staring at Hari in awe as she flew around the creature, kicking it every couple of rotations.
“She’s so hot dude! Even when she’s beating up on things, look at her!”
Yuki considered looking for new friends in the future as he watched Marco.
He looked back hearing an explosion come from the fight before seeing Nai flying back towards the beach.
Yuki and Marco had lowered the parasol and were hiding behind it, but seeing Nai fly back Yuki ran out from behind it and into her path.
He had acted on instinct and regretted it as Nai slammed into him sending the two of them sliding along the beach.
Eventually they came to a stop and Nai opened her eyes before looking back at Yuki who was holding her with both his arms around her stomach.
“Y-you alright?” he said straining at the pain from the collision.
Nai stood up and brushed the sand off her before nodding and running forward again.
Marco looked up at Hari as the robots arm slammed into her sending her falling towards the earth.
“My time to shine,” Marco said running from behind the parasol and towards the falling Hari.
He extended his arms to catch her and tried to think up a cool line to say.
However, Marco tripped over Nai’s sandcastle and Hari landed on his back causing immense pain to course through him.
“Marco are you alright?” Hari said looking down at him.
“I’m okay….who needs an intact spine anyway?”
He mumbled the last part to himself as Hari stood up and thanked him before flying back at the robot.
“I’m never coming to the beach with you again.” Yuki said lifting Marco up.
Hari flew a few feet away from the creature before she looked down at Nai.
“Nai do you have anything bigger than a gun to take this thing down?! Nothing’s working!”
Nai looked up at Hari before nodding and summoning a small rectangular box with a big red button in the center.
She pushed the button before looking up at the sky; white energy started forming at the top of the barrier.
The energy formed into a large nuke that fell towards the robot.
Nai moved out of the way and hid behind the parasol, Marco looked up at the nuke before pointing at it.
“Dude she summoned a nuke, that’s awesome! I take back about bringing her along!”
“What the hell is the matter with you?! Run!” Yuki said pulling him behind the parasol.
Hari flew away from the robot before diving into the ocean as the nuke hit the robot; a giant explosion of white light surrounded the area as metallic parts flew everywhere.
Yuki covered his ears as his nice peaceful summer was destroyed.
“Okay, what are you two?”
Yuki and the other three sat in a circle on the beach at their parasol.
Nai had erased the memories of the people nearby and deactivated the dome; she also cleaned up the robot mess.
Which lead to the current sit down.
“Well I’m a cyborg and Nai’s a prototype biological weapon,” Hari said.
Yuki unfortunately after seeing all of that believed her.
Hari tilted her head slightly at Yuki before smiling.
“Is that all?”
“No…what was that robot thing?”
“A weapon I would assume, I’m sure it was created by the military and stored in an underground facility, it probably activated due to my electronic resonance.”
“Good enough explanation for me the rest isn’t important” Marco said standing up.
“The rest is important,” Yuki mumbled looking away from everyone.
Marco helped Hari up before putting his arm around her.
“Cyborgs can drink lemonade right?”
Hari nodded as Marco pointed towards a stand before walking towards it.
Marco looked back at Yuki and winked at him before the two faded into the distance.
Yuki squeezed the bridge of his nose, wondering if he was the only sane one here.
This wasn’t something you just accepted and moved on with.
“How do you even date a cyborg?”
Yuki looked over at Nai who stared at him before holding up a beach ball.
“…you wanna play with that?”
Nai didn’t respond and handed him the ball before running a few feet away holding her arms up.
Yuki stared at the ball before tossing it to her, deciding to accept it.
“Summer’s for adventures after all,” he mumbled.
