Chapter 1:
The Arctic Moon Café, it's the name of the place I own. Theres not to many places around here, that cater to cosplay fanatics. It's the perfect place to unwind after a log day of shopping, or work. I don't know whats so alluring about it, but there I something about cosplay that bring out a persons inner self. But then again...
“Dammit Alex,” A man said from behind the counter, as he walked around it wearing, a French Maids outfit.
“What?” a girl wearing a Cheerleaders outfit and monkey ears said as she turned around. The hem of her skirt ruffling just high enough to give anyone who was looking in the general direction a peek at a pair of pink panties. “Oh God Ace, you look adorable!”
Ace rolled his eyes, “I agreed to help out today, but I didn't think I would have to wear this.”
“Smile,” I said as I snapped a candid picture of Ace, when he turned around. “Now thats a keeper. I'm thinking of posting it in the next Employee bulletin.”
“You wouldn't dare,” Ace said in a grave tone, as all the color drained from his face.
“Relax,” I laughed as I removed the memory card for the Camera. “I wouldn't dare do something like that. But the Zaft Uniform that was ordered should Arrive tomorrow, and you won't have to be...” I couldn't stop my self from laughing as I finished off. “The French Maid, and Alex, careful about turning so fast. This is a Cosplay Café theres bound to be a few perverts, in the crowd.”
“IEEEE,” Alex said as she pulled the hem of the skirt down.
“I don't know why I have to wear this,” Ace muttered as he walked behind he bar again. “It's not like I'm out on the floor.”
“It's the spirit of the art that is Cosplay,” I said as I put the camera away. “Take a look around, everyone is having fun.”
That was the truth, everyone who works here has a passion for Cosplay, Terra the head waitress, for one, is possibly the most enthusiastic, about it as she devotes herself to becoming Teletha “Tessa” Testarossa. Then theres Alex who's a bit of a ditz to say the least but her personality just keeps everyone around her feeling cheery. Jinny our personal Neko, and the Aly and Kelly the twins. They top off the waitress'. Then there Ace, my man in charge, and finally me the Boss. But then theres also George my Muscle's, the guy who keep the place in line, when ever a customer gets a little too frisky with one of the girls, or tries to take a few cheep shots with a camera. George is the man who they wish wasnt around. The only person who works for me that does not dress in costume. Though I keep telling him he would be perfect as Barret from Final Fantasy 7.
“I don't see why I can't wear something like what you are Boss,” Ace said vehemently.
“Thats because the Onizuka suit was hand made by a friend of mine for me,” I laughed. “And it's the same guy who made everyone of the outfits, that we use in the shop. Just wait till tomorrow, and you'll be Athrun Zala, of the Zaft Forces.”
“Anything is better than this,” Ace said gloomily as he motioned down to the black and white outfit that he was wearing.
“Come on honey,” a man said from a table by a window. “Just a few pictures.”
“I said no,” A girl in a Kimono and Cat ears said as she walked away when the guy grabbed her by the arm. “Let go of me.”
“I'll be back in a second” I said as I walked over to where the commotion was coming from.
“I'm a paying Customer,” the guy said. "So why don't you show some Professional Hospitality?”
“I there something wrong?” I said as I slipped over trying to get this to end as fast as possible.
“Yeah there is,” The guy said. “I'm a paying customer, and all I asked was a simple picture...”
“Yeah me siting in your lap you fucking pig,” The waitress said.
“Is what Jinny said true?” I asked as I cracked my knuckles.
“I don't see the harm,” The guy laughed. “It's just one bloomin' picture.”
“I said no,” Jinny snapped back.
“George,” I said as I snapped my fingers.
A large muscular black guy wearing a pair of jean's and a black T-Shirt walked over and stood behind me, well over a head taller than me, and I'm 6'1” “Yeah boss?”
“Please see to it that this gentleman is removed from the premises,” I said with a smile on my face.
It's this part of my job that I hate, but then I have a duty to protect my employees. It's people like this that make my little place a pain to deal with, I've had waitress's quit before because of the constant harassment. I kinda wish I could beat the shit out of them. Maybe then they would learn don't touch the Waitress's. But it's an occupational hazard, something everyone has to deal with.
But then I look at all those people out there, everyone who is here for a decent time is having fun, enjoying themselves. No one cares about the day outside, a cup of coffee, tea, or even a nice smoothie and entertainment who could really ask for anything more?
