So yeah... I've been writing an awful lot since my major demands it. It made me come to this fabulous realization that I should use this excessive amount of writing as an excuse to write here as well. I mean, why not, right? At least this way, I'm always on my toes and I can keep my mind fresh with a steady outpouring of words. Other than the works I have here already, I thought I'd try something a little different! I don't normally have the time like before to write full chapters, but I would still like to write, so I came up with this! This isn't to say that I have no plans to write new chapters at all, but rather a way to say that this will help me feel the want to write new chapters.
Anyway... What I though of doing came to me after I realize that heavy analysis is part of my major. Because of it, I often hyper-analyze pictures to the point where I can craft a story just by looking at it for a few moments. Because of it, I've come up with this nifty little project that's more of a game over anything else!
So, it's very simple! I will post a picture, look at it, find a center point, then right a story around said center point! It will be completely on the fly, so it's akin to me just barfing out words. I encourage the community to join in as well! I will try to post a picture every few weeks and leave it open to the community for about a week to see if anyone wants a try. If not, then I will personally write the story myself. I hope that people participate, and if not, then I hope they read along! Anyway, I'll give an example right below!
We'll start with this pic. They will always be hidden!
Title: Ocean Bravery
It had been five... No... ten... Let's make it ten for more emphasis! It had been ten years since he sailed out to sea. Ten years since he had eaten flesh from a creature not belonging to the ocean. Ten years since he departed on his raft made of wood and vine which miraculously stayed afloat for... ten years. His clothes were no more; only a simple cloth around his waist was left. His supplies were depleted; only a singular roped and jade-tipped spear at his side. But after ten whole years, he had finally reached his goal. Upon the distance was a serpentine creature that he had been hunting for five... Shit... Ten years. I meant to say a creature he had been hunting for ten years. Anyway, in the water no more than a few inches beneath the waves, was the serpentine giant. He had but one spear left, and he was ready to defeat it with said spear. With a steady aim and overwhelming confidence, he through his spear. Wow... I spelled "threw" wrong...
Alas, it was a solid hit. The spear connected with his target, skewering it by the tail. It scream echoed as the man jumped for joy. This was the moment he had been waiting for. He took hold of the rope and tied it on some part of his raft as the creature began to swim. It swam quickly, but it mattered little since the man was tethered to it. The man screamed in victory as he took hold of the rope and pulled himself ever closer. Ten whole years he waited for this moment. The moment to kill this creature . He had sailed the eternal ocean, fighting beasts of astounding ferocity and unbelievable spoils, but none mattered as much as this creature. One can only assume that it must have wronged him in such a way that he does not fear it like his previous encounters, but hates it with unmatched ferocity.
With each pull, he drew closer. With each yank, he felt his triumph near. No more than a few feet away from the beast, the man was ready for the final moment. That is, until the creature dove into the water and broke itself loose from it's leash. The force of the roiling and rolling waters combined with the sudden jolt practically shattered the man's raft, leaving him on top of nothing more than a sinking pile of splinters. I also forgot to mention that the reason the waters were so wild was because this whole event was happening in a storm. So yeah, there was a mighty storm that swirled around the man. He had nothing left but a single piece of wood that he precariously balanced on. All he had left was his weapon and bravery as he stared down the infinite abyss that was the water ready to swallow him.
It was at this moment that out came the creature from the water. A grotesque thing of tentacles and claws that roared at him as if it knew his situation was dire. Even in his current state, the man saw no futility. His target was before him, and this was his final moment. As the creature roared and prepared to attack, the man's unshakable conviction caused him to attack first. Summoning what almost seemed like an impossibly large amount of strength, the man leapt from his position as it sank into the water. Lighting struck around him as he thunderously roared. Though the ocean was cool and the rain was a chill, the man felt nothing more than the warm fires of his beating heart as he neared the creature. He readied his spear, holding it with both hands as he flew through the air. This was sure to be his final moment, and he knew what a moment it was.
