Throwing out a question, please vote :p

I'm trying to figure out the logistics for a long story I want to write, but before I jump in, I'm still racking my head around which style of schooling the main character is going to get.

I'm not giving any large details, but the time period is in the future and school does play a somewhat important role in it all...

I'm asking the FAKKU! community if they would read a story about a boy in a Japanese-style school, English boarding school, or typical American school. This is less about anime and manga than it is about just a story.

I say American because most anime related things tend to be in Japan, where the protagonist usually moves somewhere into Japan. I think it would be interesting to have the protagonist move into some made-up place in America. If you do a Boarding School, that would sound like a VN, and a Japanese school is typical.

I know you said it's more of a story and isn't really connected to anime, but I think you get the point.

A writer should write more for themselves and less for their audience. The audience builds off a similar enjoyment of the author, the author doesn't receive their audience because of how they cater their work. So, write the situation you feel compelled to write about.

On topic: American because I can relate the most, but I would feel disappointed if you decided that just because I said so.

It's not that, but I feel comfortable doing all three since I've experienced boarding school, normal school, and Prep school (which feels a lot like Japanese schools)

In that case, stop thinking of it like yourself and put your mind into your character. Which would they benefit from the most, or how would that contribute the most towards the themes and message of your story? I suppose it's easy for me to say because I'm a psych major, but try to put their shoes on while you write if you can.
