[Valentine 2014] Feeling the love

Late entry, hopefully makes it in.

Who really knows what love is supposed to be? Is it the feeling in your heart as that pretty girl walks by? Is it the feeling of nervousness when you ask a girl out? Is it the moment of sheer terror when your date appears wearing casual gear when you're in a tux? Is it the moment when you order the exact same meal off the menu? Is it the moment when you find out that you had much more in common then you thought? Is it the feeling when you drop off your date saying "I'll see you tomorrow"? Is love the feeling of pure bliss when you first kiss her? Could it be the beautiful lights as you propose in the city center? How about the moment when you see her walking down the aisle dressed in the most gorgeous gown you've ever seen? Is love the moment on your honeymoon when things get hot in the bedroom? Is love the moment when you are picking out the baby's name? The moment when the baby is born and you see the tears of joy in her face, is that love? When you see your baby walk for the first time? When your child is off to preschool? When they graduate high school and go off to live on their own? What is the moment you truly start 'loving' someone? I feel like I've felt love a million times, yet I have experienced none of this. None of what its like to truly feel love.

That's deep, man. You want to know what love is? I'll tell you: I love this entry. I loved the development of the questions and how they shine the representations of an advancing relationship, and I may not have experienced most of these yet as well, but it's the desire that powers a lot of inspiration in our writing. So keep yearning, keep hoping, and mayhaps one day, you will know exactly how these loves feel.

If you knew me irl, you would never think I was deep. At all. Whenever I start writing my brain just goes into this deep dark mindset where I just write. My brain is never like "oh don't do that" or "that's messed up man..." Things just sort of happen. But thank you for the positive feedback.

Those are my favorite kinds of people, for I get the chance to bring out that side of them. Most of your friends may joke around with you and talk about meaningless things, but I know that you have the capability for some interesting philosophical discussions just from reading this.

if I were to voice an opinion. I think love is something precious we give for the goodness of others, rather than ourselves merely being attracted to something.

I kinda felt like, that true love is something that can never be taken away, and can never be stolen by anyone else, and on top of that, it's immortal. for all eternity it will keep on living as a legacy to inspire us for times to come.

I could also define love as an affection or the devotion towards something which will be with us for our entire lifetime, or something which made this life undoubtedly meaningful.

many thing could be said about that, but yeah, this entry is a nice food of thought to be said.

While reading through this, it felt monotonous to me. That's pretty interesting.



Is that "he" supposed to be a "they" since the other times you refer to the child, you do so in a way that hides its sex?

I was trying to but I didn't even notice that.

This is a decent piece, though I'm not that good at critiquing things that aren't prose. To be honest this piece really sounds like stuff I've heard before, questioning the nature of love and then the speaker revealing that they've never experienced any of it. Even then I still think it's an insightful and reflective piece.

BTW I'll tell you what I think love is: It's a neuro-biological phenomenon that has something to do with the hormone oxytocin.
