A part of me feels that just maybe Sorimachi and Kazami were running a *koff-koff* "confidence game", when, once Tajima got recognized as an old past accquaintance, the two "invaded" his home, for reasons right now only they knew. Possibly their original plans (whatever they might have been) changed, once they "said Hello to his little(?) friend". At the end, it seems that they're extending their stay.

Just maybe a continuation story might provide answers to these and other perhaps-unanswered questions.
