Kawaii in Hawaii
2
If you were at Kawaii-Kon, feel free to post as many pictures as you like in this topic. I did not take any of the actual convention.
For the past 10 days I was in a nice little place called Hawaii. As some of you may know we went out there for Kawaii-Kon. Overall the trip to Hawaii was awesome and I had an amazing time, as you can tell from the expression on this native Hawaiian mans face.

For the first few days my friend and I spent all of our time exploring the island of Oahu. We rented bikes and rode around causing a ruckus. We ended up meeting some awesome people who took us on an even larger tour of the island and showed us the local hotspots. I suck at taking pictures, but that didn't stop me from trying.

At long last it was time for the convention, so we headed over to the Honolulu Convention Center.

I was amazed at how many people from FAKKU live in Hawaii. And a huge amount of them came up to say hello over the weekend. Some of them (who's names I forget) even brought us some local Hawaiian food and delicious treats (apparently Spam is a big deal in Hawaii?). From now on I encourage everyone to bring me food if you know I will be at a convention. Afterall I am a growing young man who has no idea how to cook, I only know how to use a Microwave.

When we got to Hawaii we realized that we had left the connectors for our shirt display back in Massachusetts. Using my quick wit and Macgyver like smarts I fashioned a shirt tower out of plastic and duct tape. But by the end of the convention it turned into a mess that could topple at any moment (and it did).

We ended up selling out of the majority of the shirts we brought (Hen-Tie, FAKKU, Team Rocket, and Slowbro). So if you were one of the unlucky people who missed out, you can get them here: http://sanshee.com/
Overall the convention was a huge success and I had a lot of fun. We already have another booth for next year, so I will be back in Hawaii! And lastly I did not forget about the promised Anime Boston wrapup topic, I have just been waiting for the video of our panel to get encoded. The delay is entirely my fault, but it might be done sometime this week.
Also I had a Blue Hawaii~

Lol. Did my friend say hi for me. Lol. Also, I though your not allowed to bring outside food into the convention? Also, spam is a really big deal since almost well about half of the people likes to use spam. Lol. Next I go, I'll give you some fried rice w/ SPAM!! XD

This picture may not have been taken at the convention, but I wanted to say thanks for letting me buy this shirt on the last day. You guys are awesome.

As you can see, the shirt and sticker have found a good home. My only regret is not getting a picture taken with you guys.
Looking forward to seeing you next year!

Lol, although I couldn't staff this year, I feel compelled to answer some questions about my lovely home state:
Kamehameha is in reference to King Kamehameha I who conquered and unified the hawaiian islands. I heard somewhere that when the creator of DBZ visited the islands, he was so inspired by King Kamehameha's legacy that he decided to name the famous move in DBZ after him.
Spam rocks. Don't understand why no one else anywhere likes it. It's delicious. Hawaii is the world's largest consumer of spam. Spam is our breakfast, lunch, and dinner of champions.
That dude in the picture is probably not samoan. He's probably either a bit hawaiian or portuguese. Definitely not pure hawaiian or any polynesian for that matter.
Kawaii-Kon is definitely a lot of fun, even though it's relatively new. It's only like 4-5 years running. I got to meet Vic Mignogna last time! People should come next year! Make Kawaii-Kon bigger and better!!!
