Hentai Worth Watching Panel

This year we have started to run our own panels at some of the anime conventions we attend. Our first panel is titled "Hentai Worth Watching".

I feel that hentai anime in the United States is seen as a joke by the general public, but in reality there is a lot stuff out there with amazing art and good story. In the panel we discuss the stereotypes of hentai anime that serve as a barrier keeping new people from entering. And we share some stories about how we discovered hentai on our own. Additionally we talk about some of the things done wrong with hentai brought to the United States, and talk about some of the things that have been done right. But mainly we tell you about some hentai titles worth watching. The panel is 60 minutes long.

This panel is most often ran by Mike and myself. Both times we have given this panel the room has hit max capacity with a substantial amount of people left outside unable to get in. So far we have ran this panel on at Anime Boston 2010 and Anime Next 2010. If you'd like us to come to a convention near you, send me an email (jacob@fakku.net).

Sometimes we will go through the line before the panel starts, have some fun interviewing people, and give out prizes.

Doth mine eyes deceive me or do I see free promo for "Front Innocent" there or as it was titled on US shores, "Another Lady Innocent." Good taste! I wish I could have gone but I rarely get out of the state (except next door to Missouri)... looks like it was fun though.

Sometimes i listen to the english dubs then i switch to japanese and I agree that US dubs of hentai are a little rough to the ears. i prefer listening to the japanese audio rather than english. its kind of hard when doing the sex sceens to match the sound of pleasure to climax, in english it sounds like they are faking orgasm.

That's exactly how I feel...nothing greater to destroy my mood than some white chick with a shitty voice giving the worst moan possible..and even the dudes...the voices they pick don't fit the guys talking or the action that occurs

Yes, pretty much. Lots of laughs and mutual feelings shared!
Knowing over half of the authors/artists they discussed and being one of the few who already had heard of them...

Totally agree!!! my friends have been watching anime/hentai since we were in highschool the english dub really spoils the mood of the whole movie or series.

Um, for those of us who live too far away, and are unable to attend such events, will we get to see the list of Hentai Worth Watching?

I'm planning to release the video of the panel sometime soon. Just want to work some things out first.

That's great news. I would love to watch it. I was at Anime Next but was unable to stay late. Not to mention my interest in hentai is a secret from my friends. Even though they are anime fans, hentai is a little much.
