It is unusual, but with their personalities and attitudes, they clearly were not romantically interested in this guy, and Aiue Oka doesn't seem to ever do anything approaching vanilla. It's usually some form of NTR or forced, and it seems like if a girl from an Aiue Oka story is happy with the outcome, it's almost certainly because she's broken by the end.

I'm not sure that I'd call this tame, but usually with Aiue Oka, as sexy as the manga is, you have to feel sorry for the poor girl and how she's getting screwed over, whereas in this case, it's pretty hard to feel sorry for them. So, the result is that it does seem less dark. It's incredibly sexy regardless though.
