(*ï¿£0ï¿£)θ~♪ "I was eight years old
And running with a dime in my hand
To the bus stop to pick
Up a paper for my old man
I'd sit on his lap in that big old Buick
And steer as we drove through town
He'd tousle my hair
And say, "son, take a good look around"
This is your hometown
This is your hometown
This is your hometown
This is your hometown" ヾ(〃^∇^)ノ♪
Looks like we got a short seque! I really wanted to see more from the other girls introduced in the previous chapter! At least we got a funny last panel with the previous couple from the first chapter.
On page 6, panel 3, we read: "Your criticisms of my body were nothing but sexual harassment."
Is that an accurate translation? It doesn't quite ring true. Now granted, I'm hyper-sensitive to any hint of political correctness in popular culture, so I may be overreacting. However, I LOVE Fakku, and if the site ever goes "woke," I'll be heartbroken (along with thousands of other fans).
As 623 has already pointed out, she does explicitly use the term sekuhara(sexual harassment) with regards to his comments about her “physique”.
While I don’t want to get into a drawn out discussion about politics here, i’ll simply say i share your overall concerns. In short, no, there’s no PC injection in this chapter nor has there ever been from me. While I can’t speak for the other two translators, I do suspect they share my view on the subject.
Not the translator but I've noticed in other chapters that sometimes a girl will call out a guy for commenting on her body (usually saying something like her boobs got bigger or she got fatter or something) and calling it sexual harassment. Nothing to do with "wokeness" and probably just a cultural thing. I suppose it could be phrased better and that's my bad but I assure you there's no agendas being pushed in our translations lol
Edit: Looking at the raw, she does use the phrase "sekuhara", which translated means "sexual harassment" so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
On page 8, panel 4, Tomoe thinks to herself: "He seems to have fallen for my crocodile tears... "
In retrospect, that suggests she deliberately accused Shinji of "sexual harassment" in a sly, deceitful way, in order to make him feel contrite (which in turn would leave him emotionally vulnerable). If Tomoe's use of the term doesn't quite ring true, it's because she isn't being honest. She is NOT a nice girl.
Hmm, another horny hometown release? Interesting.
After he got cockblocked a ton of times in the previous one, he finally got together with Kotone, but that ending implied that we might have a rivalry starting...But no, actually, it's a completely different guy and our previous protagonist even made a cameo at the end having sex with his girlfriend!
Interesting.
Perhaps it's just me, but something seems to be missing ... unless I go back and re-read "Horny Hometown" again (very good idea, indeed).
Page 14: "It was at that moment when Tomoe-chan Knew ..... wink-wink, nudge-nudge, say-no-more, say-no-more!"
Carry On Then, Karube-sensei.
