Was I the only one sorely disappointed by this? Do I have no soul?
In 20 minutes, I found no reason to care about these characters beyond their generic designs. And this is coming from someone who takes K-On as a drug.

Well, this is just not as high strung as K-on nor Lucky Star even though all of them used the same 4-Koma manga style.
So, I know how you feel.

After going through ep 1 & 2 jointly, it is good, but wasn't close to what I thought it would be. Although, I still like it and hope the antics continue.

I will admit that some the content is light, but this show is not a plot driven one whatsoever. Like any other comedy/slice-of-life genre it is meant to make you laugh not to attend to good storytelling in a sense of the plot.

Well the truth is, slice of life series may have a heavy plot like Hourou Musuko but i agree that this one has pretty like plot or no plot at all but in the end it is entertaining so what's wrong? And Tooru is soooo NGHHHHHH!!!

None.Either you don't know what "slice-of-life" means, or you can't recognize when things have no point, or you have this insane ability to avoid 4koma and slice-of-life shows that don't have points, which accounts for a high percentage of those genres.

Another good example is Lucky Star. No plot, bunch of random jokes and goofs while the characters live out their daily lives.
The same thing with video games like The Sims. There's no way to win, no story, it's just random: anything goes.
That being said, ep. 2 had one of the funnier bath scenes I can remember.

If you don't like no-plot, simple just stop watching, so I can stop "reading" your rants in here.
A slice of life story is a category for a story that portrays a "cut-out" sequence of events in a character's life. It may or may not contain any plot progress and little character development, and often has no exposition, conflict, or dénouement, with an open ending.
