A tough question to answer...?!

Who'd win in this clash? A friend asked me for jokes, but now I've seriously thought about it. O_o

Who'd exactly win in a fight of pure bad-assedness?!

I bring this question to you, the people.

(Yeah, I know, bad-assedness isn't a word, but there's a lot of them out there. XD)

If he had the right bullets for his fancy gun, Gene could probably win this one. I don't really know who Kamiya is, so I can't gauge his bad-assed'ness, but the other three are pretty much just people who are decent with a gun in their hand. So I guess I'd go for Gene. 'Cause he'd probably cheat.

Definitely Gene Satrwind with his Caster gun and if he had the #4, #9, #13 shells.

You needn't ask such a question as Spike would or could rather easily dispose any of the three other aforementioned characters. No special guns whatsoever can ever beat this guy; simply judging a battle by the size of their guns huh? utter nonsense! Guns or no guns, Spike is one hell of a "martial arts" using "Jeet Kune Do" that Bruce Lee developed, he could "kick anyone's ass" effortlessly. And as far as weaponry is concerned, Spike has and can pilot this "baby" so well:


a converted "Asteroid racer" called Swordfish II which is armed with four machine guns, multiple missile launchers, and a single plasma cannon. Fuck Yeah!

lastly, he's got some sort of a curse which seemingly makes him immortal; "like a cat with nine lives" or so they say.

Hands down, he's already got this one in the bag right before it even started. 8)

Dunno. With the right amount of determination, Kamina could theoretically repair any damage the Gurren Lagann sustains, grow to a large size, and step on the competition.

But I'm going to go with Gene, because I happen to like him more.

Tough choice. I never watched outlaw star so I don't know about him. But Spike would definitely kick the other 2's asses.

the swordfish II of yours can easily get owned by the outlaw star

It's a grappler ship with counter missiles as well as normal missiles and it has 6 banks of machine guns and gene's caster when need be.

plus if you shoot plasma cannons during charging time, it would malfunctrion and misfire...destroying the ship.

Easy for you to say the question is could he(Gene) actually do it?

Don't forget that Spike has a gun of his own as well. I merely pointed out that even without such a weapon, he's still a force to be reckoned with.

You've just failed to convince me even more... and this is not a fight of "spaceships" nor only between Spike and Gene in the first place. I only mentioned Starfish II cause Spike could definitely pilot it on his "own" while I doubt anyone could pilot and do battle with such a huge battleship all by "himself". If you don't get it, just read what the topic/poll really is suggesting here.

And it's a given that this 4 way battle would be held on "land" as Wolfwood couldn't possibly contend anywhere else much to say in "outer space"; where Spike's Swordfish II could still pretty much be of use while the humongous outlaw star would rather be useless for combat.

Think again before you attack somebody else's statements. I didn't even particularly mention Gene nor any of the other characters. I was merely pointing out "some" (that's not even all) of Spike's strong points. You only offered a bunch of flawed counter statements for that matter; in other words, you haven't least proven that Gene could actually beat Spike nor the other two.

Yes, Gene is not a Martial arts expert but he more then holds his own on a one on one. I see no reason why he couldn't make some space in between him and Spike at some point.




Since this is a fight and no restrictions have been placed I would assume that all the characters could use all their abilities. Gene could use the Caster and Spike his gun.

It was an example. A rather coincidental reference in my opinion considering I watched that movie yesterday. In the Indiana Jones movie that scene showed that you can be the most impressive guy ever but a gun is still going to out do a martial arts expert everytime as long as we are talking real world physics.

I don't think he attacked it as much as comparing Gene to Spike (which isn't a bad thing). If you want to try and prove a character is better then Spike then of course others will compare the stats and abilities of the character they believe would win to your statements. It's a good reference then making a whole new list of facts on Spike.

For the most part, I felt attacked cause I didn't specifically pit Spike against anyone, as I only mentioned some of the things that he's capable of doing. I see nothing wrong of course with "comparisons" but I can't help it if all he did say sounded like a fuckin insult to my most "idolized" male anime character of all time. So I felt that I needed to at least defend myself and Spike, yet without really attacking Gene nor anyone else for that matter.

If you were in my shoes, wouldn't you least be offended by this?

even if it's just an example, I don't think it's quite appropriate to use Spike as a reference for similar-comparison as it was never in his nature to "brag" and GOD, neither do he own a sword... and I haven't seen the movie so you can't expect me to understand what he really meant by it unless he would have said so.

LOL, yah I did indeed vote for Gene over Spike. I just don't see how spike would get a chance to win after even one round of the caster is shot. #13 Shell is just a "insta win" move. Even if it does do massive damage to the user (takes away life in some cases killing the user). If Spike could disarm Gene then I would give the advantage to Spike.

Also I see you're calling for reinforcements yourself :P

Hm. Gotten quite a bit of response, so far....and most people are leaning on Spike's favor (I kind of agree, too, but I can't see the Swordfish match the Outlaw Star)

No worries, I ain't gonna "persecute" you nor anyone who didn't go along with Spike. Well, regarding Ed's "Papa", he's quite a huge guy, and just like his daughter... "eccentric". I'm pretty sure it was just "one of those days" for Spike... (excuses, excuses) :lol: still, I love that episode, Cowboy Bebop, and Spike... and even Faye; Das'waifu. :P Thanks to you, I now feel like re-watching the whole series again.
