I wasn't aware that Akumetsu was cancelled... That makes sense with the ending and all.
I will admit that once Akumetsu broke away from being primarily blood and gore and went more into political corruption the manga started to get a tad boring.
I just finished it, and I loved the last three volumes.
I had stopped reading the manga a few months ago. I got tired of having to check whenever a new chapter came out, so I decided to wait until it was finished. I started reading it again last week, and it took me a full week to get through the last couple of chapters of volume 14 and half of 15. Today, I started back up, and before I knew it, I had finished volume 16 and had no intention of stopping.
I was sad to see this series end. I feel in love with this series because it was different. Akumestu was the first manga character I can identify as a superhero manga. The protagonist or protagonists seemed liked a D.C./Marvel hero from the comic books (not the kiddy shows or half or movies). Akumestu is definitly one of my top favorite superheroes.
I never did finish the series, or caught up to it, but it was so actiony and fun to read.
I only got up to the part where he was supposedly going to get caught by some business man who wanted to reveal his identity, so the girl tries to warn him of it, but then there ends up being two of him. One on the television and then one with the girl, the business man is baffled and asks what was going on. The main character says it's "magic". I think. XD
