I felt that it is not mediocre, but too fastpaced. Or maybe I just compared it too much with the manga.
Btw, where is your review posted? I'd like to read it.
Hmm... i was planning to skip out on the review... bah.
To find a somewhat suitable word for how i felt towards the episode.. it'll be "incomplete"
2 fight scenes would usually be a treat for the viewers but in this case Sunrise kinda screwed it up. Both fights felt very soft, they lacked the edge that makes the viewer feel "IT"... kinda like how the main character would use a move and we the views would find
AWESOME, in this case... both fight ended so blandly that the only feeling i felt was one of disappointment.
Sunrise not planning to play around with Current's gender was a pity too in my opinion. Gender confusion if played correctly can really sell, just look at hideyoshi. But yea, Sunrise didn't play it's cards right and Current's gender was pretty much cooked.
Taku's period of emo became something of more a joke with it being revealed so early. It became really something similar to Kira "Tomato"-ish for him to continue to roll in his own misery despite the issue being resolved ever so recently. It's not something that i can take seriously, you get it? But hey, they did it to make Taku transfer into the same school....FINE.
