[Anime] Devil Survivor 2

Liking it so far, it was a bit unexpected that Keita died so soon though.
Now it seems that the worst menace is about to begin xP
I'm still wondering with which ending this will finish.

For a moment, I thought Hinako got offed. Glad she didn't end up dying. Also, I'm damn sure that Merak isn't that easy to kill. Finally, enter Kiritsugu-I mean Ronaldo. I really should start playing the game before next week rolls around.

A boss monster that big cannot be defeated that easily. Then again, some of the bosses in the first game were huge as well. If only I knew the strengths and weaknesses of Merak. Looking forward to the next episode.

Good episode, though it was kinda of lame that everyone had the same demons, but all where attacking with Zan, which Merak is weak against, so they were doing it right, but that don't make much sense since supposedly they don't know what it was weak to.

For a moment I was like "NOOOO HINAKO! YOU ARE ONE OF MY BEST CHARACTERS IN THE GAME! WHY THEY HAD TO KILL YOU!?
You don't how relived I was when they didn't really killed her.
Also, what with Io being suddenly lovestruck with the protagonist.

So far I am not liking the personality they are giving to the protagonist "Hibiki", kinda emo-ish, when in the game even if you make him pessimist he isn't THAT bad, though its not like they can make everything like in the game, I mean Keita died, and he thinks its his fault so its not really that bad I guess.

Hibiki summoned another overpowered demon. How did he do it though? I wish I could play the game because I felt slightly mad not knowing that much details. Also, the chief and that floating boy were friends back then huh? And he summoned a demon at a young age. He must have a very high spiritual power. Anyway, I think the next episode must the one where Hibiki was predicted to be killed. Looking forward to the battle if there is any.

Good episode, didn't really like how they turned Hibiki all emo tough.
I liked that they showed the relationship between Yamato and the Anguished One, since in the game you got told that he was the one that taught Yamato's family their knowledge of the supernatural (more specifically talking, how to summon demons) and that Yamato was his first "Shining One". It also was a nice detail that they gave Yamato a Cerberus, just like how it is the first demon you ever see him using.

Seeing all the Septentrion being defeated that easily makes me want to play the game to prove its difficulty. Also, why can't Daichi just get newer and stronger demons like Io and Hibiki? His role as a comedic relief should've been over by now. And that ending, where did everybody go? Or did Alcor do something that enables only Hibki and Hotsuin to notice him?

So I think this is the part of the game where he decides his destiny, or maybe the real part is somewhere in the last few episodes. Anyway, I wonder what is this "sacrifice to Lugh" thing Fumi was talking about at the end of the episode? Could it mean this Lugh is the bringer of doom on Judgement day after all the Septentrions are defeated, and he will test Hibiki's strength to see if Hibiki has what it takes to be some kind of superior being? If so, then Devil Survivor already did that. Still, I want to play this game so bad.

Airi and Jungo! Yay! lol at Jungo's restaurant being full of cats, but that means that there won't be any particular cat called Jungo D: (and yes, I named Jungo's cat Jungo, just like Jungo suggested. Jungo.)
Good episode, but I am kinda of bothered how they just keep using Daichi just as comic relief, when he is actually pretty useful in the game, I mean he is Atsuro's equivalent for fuck sake!

Once again, good episode.
But things are getting a little rushed.
lol at Airi being half naked and embarrassed with nobody noticing.
And that ending scene was pretty epic, fucking love that song.

Well considering that scene where the Anguished One/Alcor questioned Hibiki about with whom he will side don't happen at all in the game (at least not like in the anime) I'll say that it will take some more time, maybe around the tenth or eleventh episode.

No seriously, its a big spoiler, I left the most important bits out though:









The thing about Lugh don't comes up until the sixth day, when *pretty major spoiler* so they need someone channeling Lugh through their body because *still the spoiler I mentioned* to *spoiler*
and they choose Io because out of all in the group, she is the one with most affinity toward the supernatural, that is what Fumi was talking about, in fact the medical examination they went through in this episode was for that, but in-game it isn't as bad as "Lugh sacrifice", just pretty dangerous, they kinda exaggerated it in the anime.









And Hibiki becoming a higher being is a no... But... someone else can...!
And it isn't Io.
But I doubt that the ending the anime is going for, too bad since it is my favorite ending.

It saddens me a little to see more of the supporting characters dying. That ending theme song is reducing the number of people as it goes on. Also, Alcor being a Septentrion means that Hibiki would have to kill him to face Polaris. So Lugh must be another Septentrion, since at the ending Sako told Nitta that she had to die. I can't wait to see the next episode.

Watching Hinako, Jungo, Airi and Fumi get vaporized in one episode, along with almost everyone in JP's...I swear, the director of this must've pulled a page out of Gundam's plot-book. Also Daichi finally summons something of actual worth just to save Hibiki.

NO!! Airi!! Jungo!!! Hinako!! WHY?!
This episode was awesome, but it was kinda of sad how everyone died without being able to do anything, you can feel that they are like "I did my part, there nothing else I can do" in particular Fumi, and Jungo trying to save Airi was just... sad.
Pretty cool how Daichi summoned Black Frost though.
And ouch, the way Alcor killed Botis was pretty cruel.

At first I thought that the writers were going for the Kingmaker ending, but this episode make me think they are actually going for the Restorer ending, maybe a combination of both since Alcor is all "I won't let you kill Hibiki". I don't know.

And the gap between characters in the ending is really damn huge now.

HEE HO! Seriously? Jack Frost? Though every Megami Tensei series must have a Jack Frost in it. And the ending theme is bare in the middle. I wonder how are they all going to challenge Polaris? Would it be as mind-blowing as the first Devil Survivor?

In the Japanese version of the games Black Frost name is a wordplay:
Ja'aku-furosuto/Frost.
With Ja'aku meaning wicked or evil when written in kanji, hence why it sounds like they are calling it Jack Frost.
