Episode 6
In anime, that reply means "I almost love you" and "so keep trying", in real life, it's known as a rejection.
"I like you, I may even have feelings for you, but I don't have enough to want to date you (despite being a young healthy male, not in a relationship or having, any at all, reason not too)".
And yes, I am probably jealous, Nyaruko is attractive to me for the first (or second time) in this episode, and this is what she got for her honest and truest feelings and attempt.
If I was in Nyaruko's position I'd think that I was flat out rejected.
But, it's anime after all, and some scenes defy logic. If not, it wouldn't be as good.
[spoil]Logic defying scenes I'm fine with, just this in particular, ignoring events in the story... It's rare for a character to make such a sincere and convincing (arguable I know) confession. After that, we are just going to roll back to per-confession settings, as if it was never made?
Maybe S2 of Boku wa Tomodachi raised my standards a bit too high and I am over reacting, but right now, it's irritating, especially because I find myself really liking Nyaruko now.[spoil]
