[Anime] Nekomonogatari

That was fucking awesome. I loved seeing Shinobu act like a dog when she wanted the donuts. It's always funny to see how Araragi solves problems. He basically just starts a conversation with the demon in question, gets butchered, and then Shinobu comes in and saves the day. Dat sword too. It almost made Sephiroth's sword look small. Now I can't wait for Kizumonogatari.

This made the wait for Kizu even worse, and Hanekawa grew a bit on me since I didnt really like her before, I also like how Oshino Meme got more screen time, it seems like he didnt get any at all in Bake or Nise. That scene when Shinobu ate the donuts was pretty funny too.

Hanekawa more or less forcibly fusing with the cat was surprising. Her will power is scary, and completely fits with how Koyomi describes her as someone amazing. Even if the amazing has a scary connotation. It was interesting how Shinobu referred to Koyomi as "servant" and in Nise it changes to "master". Koyomi's plan of swallowing the sword was great, however he did get it inside of him is left to the imagination, but I wanted to punch him for thinking his death would make things better. He learns that in Bake regardless.

Battle for the donuts was hilarious

Will Araragi STOP sucking at combat? It's pathetic to see him in action. Nekomono was OK. Loli vamp saves the day...again. I've taken so many screencaps of the panty clad Black Hanekawa. She never gets boring

It is worth noting that not every highschool boy can magically gain combat prowess after being in a half-vampire-ish state for under a month. Nor can his abilities compare with a diminished vampire's 500+ years of experience.

Well, he is actually really good at combat. Oddities are just op. The current Araragi is like a 10th vampire which is still amazing when compared to a human, but nothing compared to a real one. The source of his powers, heartunderblade, has been reduced to a childlike state which is also an indicator of her level of power and his power level. If black Hanekawa is op, then heartunderblade's level of power cannot even be expressed by words. God is really the only thing that fits. And during Kizumonogatari, he fought with heartunderblade and won. She was holding back, but that is not important. So yeah, good at combat. Oddities just op.

So Araragi was not a half vampire. He was full blown super uper vampire, probably the strongest vampire in existence besides heartunderblade. It is because a Kai made him into her servant. Now, being the uber 'god' that she is he gained regeneration ability and ridiculous physical power that could rival that of heartunderblade. So he was a real vampire and his abilities did rival her own.

I really enjoyed it. <3 my Waifu. I'm a bit confused on araragis feelings though. The way i understood it was that he loves Hanekawa but refuses to admit it because he wants her to be able to find a way to deal with her stress on her own rather than relying on someone else to get rid of it for her?

This started when he snuck into hanekawa's house and got completely terrified. He discovered Hanekawa's real life and how suffering it is. Araragi claimed that he loved Hanekawa, not knowing what her life is really like, not knowing who Hanekawa really is. Araragi thought that calling it love was absurd.

Then, there's Araragi's brilliant plan with Heartspan. He carried out the plan, even though he knew it was stupid and pointless. When Araragi was at the brink of death, He said something like "I didn't really wanted to save you, I just wanted to die for your sake."

When the whole meddlecat case was solved, There was Araragi's talk with Meme at the abandoned cram school. Araragi realized that her feelings for hanekawa is not love, but simple admiration. Thus, Araragi "fell out of love, without being in love in the first place."

I believe that he loved the "fake" Hanekawa, much for the same reasons Hitagi originally fell in love with him. Because she helped even though she didnt really know him, and didn't judge him for being different. Once he learned more about her and her real feelings he realized he didn't have romantic feelings for the "real" Hanekawa. Though I actually find it kind of selfish at this point that he basically decided he didnt love her when he found out she wasn't as perfect as she tried to make herself seem.

The whole not wanting to save her but wanting to die for her sake thing still doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me. Its basically like hes madly inlove with her but despises her at the same timel. I think i may read the light novel and see if that helps me understand his thought process a bit more.

He was a vampire, but not anymore. Koyomi has demonstrated little to no martial arts abilities and instead completely relies on what's left of his vampire transformation. The remains of his vampire state really only allow him to survive these encounters; he can't even beat some snakes. So unless Kizu mentions something, Koyomi really has no combat ability.

I just chalked it up to Koyomi's Messiah Complex-esque mentality. It's not like we haven't seen him risking his life for people he just met (and some that he never met).
