Shinsekai Yori | From the New World
I don't think a topic has been made, I couldn't find it. New series of the season. Episode 1 came out earlier.
About one thousand years into the future, civilization has been retrograded and humans are living dispersed within small communities. People in this era have a psychic power called “Juryoku” which materializes things they imagine. In the absence of advanced scientific technology, people are using this power as a major source of energy.
One day, a girl called Saki, along with her friends, finds a small archive robot outside the town. It records the ancient history of humans. It tells them that Juryoku was found in the 21st century and the discovery caused a world war between psychics and non-psychics. The psychics won this war and thus their reign of terror began.
When the adults in town figure out that the children discovered this forbidden knowledge, they seal their Juryoku and exile them. Saki and the others end up in a forest where they meet a huge hairless bipedal mouse known as a “Bakenezumi” and get involved in a violent war the creatures are currently engaged in.
I'm getting the feeling that there's gonna be some fucked up stuff happening later on in this anime. Episode 2 was good though. I'm really liking the story setup for this show.
I'm predicting a time leap within two episodes considering the voice of the narrator talking about the events in past tense and the ending showing what I assume to be the grown-up versions of the main characters
Episode 3 was interesting. I can't wait for the history lesson in episode 4. Saki is pretty cute and I'm still wondering if this show is gonna time leap or not. I get the feeling that one (or all) of her friends are gonna die in some tragic way. I hope it's not that depressing though.
Ok, question. Why no teacher/supervisor going w/ them so they don't get off course and get fucked up?
Probably because there are not enough teachers for one to be with every group.

Spoiler:
The conspiracy, she continues to grow. I just realized the parts at the start of the episode are before the events of the rest of the episode. Kind of like a "heres how the story got to how it is now"
Aaaannnndddd shit gets real. The destructive power of that guys PK is absolutely no joke 0__o. Makes sense that they would want to make damn sure people are deathly afraid of even thinking of using their PK on others
i got to agree with castor, the artwork looked pretty low compared to the previous episodes. i mean, i thought they looked older given the new style which totally lost the whole 'children innocence' that was previously trying to be conveyed
