Anime That You Feel Needs More Attention

Well I used the search feature but could not find the thread that probably exists already. Anyway,

Ever watch an anime were you finished it and your jaw was on the floor? Yet you look around for a fan base....yet it is almost non existent?
Post the series that you find never got the attention it deserved, and why we should watch them.

For me I have 2 anime's that I feel never got enough attention for how well done they were:

Xam'd Lost Memories

I feel that the production quality of Xam'd was just on a different level then most anime's I have ever seen. The quality of art was just amazing.
Putting the art aside the story was also fantastic and well paced. It had a very refreshing feel to it. Not to mention it has a great mix of slice of life peace time with very serious encounters, no matter what those may regard.


Futakoi Alternative

Here is the main anime I think needs more attention
You start off with what seems to be another, potentially, good comedy good around anime. Yet a few episodes in you get a sense of looming mystery between some of the characters. A few episodes past that and you can kiss happy land good bye.
I was amazed how much of a serious tone this series took on while still keeping an aspect of "wtf.." going.
Once again, a very refreshing story with unique characters amidst most of the garbage that is coming out today.

Both Ef A Tale of Memories, Ef A Tale of Melodies

By far 2 of the greatest produced anime's of all time. The art is amazing, the way they take an average conversation and turn it into something unique is amazing, the story is unbelievably good....yet I see very little mention to both of these. I need not say more for these 2 series.

Cross game was a little sading and underrated like Cult otaku hits like elfen lied, NHK, and plastic little.

I will have to check Cross game out, looks interesting. NHK and Elfen Lied were amazing series. Will also take a look at plastic little.

Phantom: Requiem of the Phantom

its an anime about a Japanese tourist who is kidnapped and is brainwashed into becoming an assassin know as "Phantom" Pretty cool show :3

I think DearS was underrated.

Oh no, this is going to give me more things to add to my watching list :D

Anyway, the two that I can think of that seem fairly far out there are first,

Infinite Ryvius.

It's this space saga, pretty much put together like the book Lord of the Flies, where a large group of students, about high school age, in a space training program are trapped in a space station that is sabotaged and begins to fall apart. So they are forced to take shelter in a top secret/prototype battle ship that was hidden in said space station. They are stuck together as they drift about the solar system, trying to survive and keep themselves organized. It's done by Sunrise and the animation is probably just about above average. Not anything that blows you away but decent enough for any mecha and action sequences. I found the storytelling to be engaging in wondering what was going to happen next. One downside I found is a lot of sci-fi technical jargon gets thrown about and it makes reading subtitles close to being a chore.

Princess Nine

It's girls...that play baseball...cute girls that play baseball, and they actually kick some ass and try real hard unlike those K-On whores who sit around all day and get fat on CAKE!(I admit to enjoying K-On for the time that I watched it, but ultimately not as memorable for me). Story follows nine girls as they form a girls Baseball team at their all girls school, led by the ace pitcher, Ryo. Their ultimate goal is to make a team to go up against other teams in the region, which of course are all boys teams. Again, great character development as the team faces many hardships. Not super great animation, but it's good enough for the subject matter and the story and characters tend to hold the focus of the show instead.

So both of those I enjoyed and I haven't really run into too many other folks out there that actually know or perhaps mention them.

BADASS ANIME IT NEEDS MORE ATTENTION

The whole show is awfully underrated. Personally, I think the story is original and kinda unique in its own way.
The main character try to deal with loneliness and depression, and the story leads to the series of discussions about life, psychology and what it means to be human and interact with others.

I second this. Just got the whole series on DVD too.

Dai-Guard is a really underrated anime. Amazing anime I might say...

yeah I third that, its been dubbed. but nobody ever mentions this anime when talking about great anime.

It's pretty dated, but the message is still the same. I think Otaku No Video is something every hardcore anime fan should watch.

Super Robot Wars, it takes everything that is awesome about Super Robot anime and crams it all into 26 episodes.

Galaxy Angel for sure. It may be a bit old, but it really deserves more than it gets.

agreed, though I like the manga more than the anime, the first episode skipped four or so volumes and how things go is out of order, so it was disorienting trying to puzzle what happened.

Personally, I think Ergo Proxy and Casshern Sins need more love
