Anime - Value! :D

Ok, Assuming that you actually buy Anime what are the ones that you've bought and thought to yourself "Wow, That was actually well worth paying for".

Im not necessarily looking for Anime that you really like in this topic, What im looking for are ones that have been a bit of a surprise and shown you that it was TOTALLY worth it.

The ones from my collection that I personally think are great value are:

1) Chobits - Cant remember how much I actually payed for it but it was cheap!! :) Also the story was (at the time when I bought it) not especially appealing to me but I thought "Fuck it" and risked it for a biscuit.


2) Rumbling Hearts - Its only 13 EPs but I absolutely LOVED the story and it was a bargain. (Something like £7 if i recall) Thats less than 3 pints of shitty cheap lager! :D


3) Hajime No Ippo seasons 1 & 2 - Ok so it wasnt cheap but I decided to make the leap and buy it cause im a fan and all that then like 2 weeks later it gets the ol' "discontinued by manufacturer" treatment. Glad I made the leap to buy it cause it annoys me to fuck viewing a 70+ EP Anime online, Discs are soooo much better! :)



4) Black Lagoon - Dont know why but I held off on buying it for a long time and what can I say apart from WOW. If you havent got it then BUY BUY BUY!!!


5) The Familiar Of Zero - Im one of those people that hates magic and all that kind of shit, Louise is worth it believe me! :P

I agree with the rest except for the rumbling hearts one,to me it should just be 3 episodes long as its just the guy is a wuss and dont want to face reality.. - -;;

I bought appleseed EX Machina(sp,cant remember) and its pretty awesome.My art teacher showed it to me and I had to get it right away.I got the movie Casshern for free too.

I got serial experiments lain pretty cheap and I was kinda surprised, I liked the eps I got just never finished it.

why? cos i love the series, the story and the box artwork all epicly beautiful - £40

why i love this series it's an innocent, funny, and really easy to jus pick up and watch -£35

Hyakko, Afro Samurai (if you see it as anime), every Keroro Gunsou DVD I ever bought, Toradora, Shin Hokuto no Ken

EDIT: I just remembered one that I was really really surprised about was Noir. I liked that one alot and I bought it not knowing what it was about.
