watching anime is a personal affair which i do alone but later discuss with friends
but there are some anime (more like one) i love to watch with friends and that is
Golden Boy
this anime is too damn great and watching with friends makes it twice as fun. but watching it with an anime friend who never saw it. its like winning the lottery. the joys i had sharing this anime are unspeakable
No. I once went to an anime club. Thought it'd be fun watching new animays but the people keep throwing comments everywhere during the show. It's very irritating.
Discussion of anime is fine though, unless it's with an adult that is very childish, who has been tainted by the internet thinking it's fine to troll or something.
One friend, two brothers, usually. Though, over the years I've tried to spread the appreciation to as many people as I could. Hell, I've even gotten my parents to watch some of the bigger movies like Spirited Away and Tokyo Godfathers (RIP Kon-sensei). In the end it really depends on the anime in question whether or not I'll want to watch it with other people or solo.
I find that watching anime with friends doesn't work. Whether it be the extraneous comments or uncomfortableness, it doesn't work for me. Watching anime is pretty much a solitary affair for me.
seems like you people are watching hard core stuff thats story heavy
i like watching anime that doesn't really have a story and is more comedy than any thing, or re-watching old shows we loved growing up just for memories with friends
i remember my friend bought a 4kids dub of one piece for a friend birthday gift. oh my god funnest time we had watching anime together. our friends were hard core one piece fans so they saw the edits that were made. it was hilarious seeing them complain over the edits. they asked us how we watched that crap my friend and i didnt care for the series also i loved the crappy rap opening it got me ampt for the show.
Watching anime to me is like my personal time. I can never enjoy watching anime with friends, especially ones like Kara no Kyoukai.. It's like reading a book, you don't read whilie another person is reading the same thing beside you
There's numerous problems with watching anime with friends. One, none of the FEW friends I have can stand anime. Two, it's impossible to watch anime 'together' with online friends in a practical manner.
I would be interested in watching something like La Blue Girl with a female friend though. I imagine that would be... interesting.

I watch anime with my boyfriend, but those tend to be slice-of-life series, like Hidamari Sketch and Azumanga Daioh. The rest I usually watch on my own.
Right now my best friend and I are watching Highschool of the dead. I like it for the fan service and gore and my friend likes it for the story and drama.
