Plot Synopsis from MAL
Spoiler:
When he was a child, Murakami was infatuated with a girl he called Kuroneko. She insisted on knowing about aliens and having met them, but no one believed her, even young Murakami was skeptical. One day, she decides to show him the aliens, but an accident occurs and Kuroneko dies while Murakami is left seriously wounded in the hospital.
Years go by and Murakami obsesses on finding proof of the existence of aliens because of a promise he had made with Kuroneko. Then, one day, a new transfer student comes to his class, who not only looks a lot like Kuroneko, but is named Kurohaneko!
And even though she insists on never having met Murakami before, the girl has superhuman strength and seems to even be able to predict the future!
How will Murakami's life change now that he has been saved by this mysterious girl that claims to be a magician?
I'm not completely caught up but I've read a good bit of the manga, and its got a fairly similar feel to Elfen Lied... cute girls, a healthy amount of blood shed, and an incredibly fucked up plot. Just like Elfen Lied, their making the anime before the manga is finished, so they might end up taking the liberty of creating their own ending again. Only time will tell! Either way I'm excited as hell for this.
I was surprised Myanimelist said this anime wasn't a romance.
I feel something between the two and I hope it would go further. Overall, this was a good watch.
I didn't know this was by the guy who did Elfen Lied. That makes a lot of sense; I was even thinking this seemed really similar to Elfen Lied in terms of style and tone. I'm already following it, but that news makes me like it even more. I loved Elfen Lied.
...well, I did take a look at the new episodes out of curiosity, but the amount of censorship is disturbing. What kind of magic did they perform to air Elfen Lied in the first place? :U
Finally got a chance to get caught up on some anime. Loving this series as much as I expect to. And its held true to the manga so far as well. Can't wait for more episodes. Dat Kuroneko.
as of episode 5, i would say its an enjoyable show, but its nothing that hasn't been before. I do enjoy the death suppressant aspect though, it adds a sense of urgency to it, which makes for good cliff hangers.
