Anime========> hentai w/ good storylines?

Not sure if this has been discussed before, but is anyone else thinking that some character designers and animators, etc... also draw doujinshi on the side? I mean, take Code Geass for example, CLAMP were the character designers and they already, at least IMO, design quite beautiful characters. However, i'm sure most of you already know this, almost all of the female characters have large breasts and every episode features "some" fanservice.

Is is just me, or are anime starting to slowly shift to hentai,while retaining great storylines and quality? Not that it's unwelcomed, just saying.

P.S. If anyone really know, are there actually people in the anime industry that secretly manipulate their projects so they can make extra money on the side?

I don't believe anime is shifting to hentai at all. I just think that Japanese people on some level are perverted. Plus, shit loads of previous anime featured plenty of fan service, so this is nothing new.

It' possible that animators and designers draw doujins on the side... but that would take research. I for one am too lazy to do so.

Like g-money said, lots of shows in the past have had fanservice. It's nothing new. Series now have chicks with huge tits; series ten years ago had chicks with huge tits. Actually, in the past, anime series showed more. It wasn't uncommon to see nudity in an anime series. Nowadays, it's pretty rare. So, no, I don't think the industry is shifting in any way.

Yes the japanese mentality is a fickle thing and took me an entire semester to barely grasp the ideas of perversion coupled with their reserved attitudes on actual sex and public affection. However, if they are truly perverted, hidden or otherwise, why would anime like Ikkitousen fail to generate perverted interest from a larger audience?

Oh, if any one thinks this should be in the hentai or some other section you are welcome to move it there, seeing that i have no idea how to...

As g-man said, it's quite possible that animators and designers draw doujins on the side....Gainax designed and produced henati games for years (and possibly still do) to keep money coming into the business between anime series projects.

I certainly agree with the other posters about fanservice / big boobs being around for years, the Gainax "bounce" started way back in Gunbuster....but I'm going to split hairs here and actually ask if your talking of more ecchi/fanservice stuff in anime or full on Hentai? Because for me there is a BIG difference, there's no fucking in any ecchi based series. And before anyone jumps on me and starts expalining about the ecchi & hentai terms, I am using the Western understanding of the two terms.

ECCHI = fanservice but no sex...

HENTAI = full sex scenes, cuming/fucking scenes...Bible Black, Cool Devices, La Blue Girl, etc..

Possibly, it certainly seems to be a trend atm....or it's just that the fansubbers are doing anime with more ecchi in them as their current projects. :?

I think though that non-ecchi series will survive OK.

I'm pretty sure that won't happen. There are a lot of series out there with a lot of ecchi stuff in them, but I've only seen a few series that are completely ecchi and not worth watching except to use as a masturbatory aid.

For example, I'm currently watching Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu, and it's full of fanservice, but it's still fun to watch. The characters are developed, the show is funny, and the story is (mediocre but) fun.

There are also a lot of series out there with absolutely no fanservice or ecchi things.
