Astarotte no Omocha!

I thought that this was a solid start for the series, and I really enjoyed the animation and character interaction. While I, too, don't find Rie to be my favorite voice actress, I found that her role here as Astarotte worked out quite well. However, I'm really liking the side characters, such as Elfreda and Judit, and I hope that they get a decent amount of the spotlight.

I was also quite surprised that Judit ended up going to the human realm instead of Astarotte, and how quick it was for her to grab a human, (and his adorable sister to boot). I'm looking forward to seeing how this works out in the next episode.

Upon reflection, I realize I must be depraved in some way, that I'm really looking forward to how this is all going to play out. This show continues to impress, especially since my expectations of it were so low. Judging from its current development, I can see this show actually pulling out some decent light comedy material.

Also, didn't expect them to actually employ a symbolic shot, so that was a nice touch:

Mm. I thought that the second episode was much better than the first, and I had warm, fuzzy feelings in my heart after watching it. Naoya is such a likable male protagonist, and I smiled a lot, (especially when he said how he wants to help Astarotte, even though he's not sure of it right now). It was also so cute of him to make the plush for her, (and also, as you said, a nice moment of symbolism). I'm guessing that Naoya was able to develop into the character that he is today because of him having to raise his sister, presumably on his own. I think he can sense some of those abandonment issues with Astarotte, and can probably help her out with that as well.

I'm quite excited for next week, (especially with more Asuha), and her presumably transferring to a new school.

Also, Elfie = love this episode. That is all. :)

I agree with both of you. Diomedea could have easily turned this into nothing but an ecchi show full of fanservice (think Kanokon), but besides the brief pantyshots and references to “sucking life seed” and, they went more “cute comedy” instead. The †˜milking’ scene with Effie was funny, and the whole reindeer plushie scene was cute, and really shows how nice of a guy Naoya is.

Unfortunately, I accidentally read some spoilers in the Wikipedia entry in addition to the previous post by akihiro209, but I’m still looking forward to the next episodes.

The spoilers I read before sort of killed parts of it for me, but was still a nice episode. This ep. was pretty focused on Asuha and Lotte. Asuha moves with Naoya to the new world, and after a bit of an argument with Lotte over the difference between her and Naoya's age, she decides to go to school with her, and ends up making some new friends. Everything seems to be going well, until a four-legged, furry, long necked “human male” appears and charges at Lotte, Asuha, and their new friends.

Haha, I agree. This episode was definitely full of cuteness. I, too, was rather surprised to hear that Asuha is Nayoha's daughter, and I hope we get a little bit of explanation around that.

But as for Asuha trying to get Lotte more friends/just being her cute self in general? Simply fantastic.

So Lotte is safely back home, with her magic restored from a kiss to the forehead, without the need to "suck life seed." She also reveals she's "done everything" with Naoya... And proceeds to wet her panties after going into a haunted house. >_>

It also seems the Great Mage has taken a weird interest in Naoya... and even moved her house right next door to Lotte's. After learning about how the kiss on Lotte's forehead regenerated her magic, she started blushing and whatnot. Wonder what that's all about...
