Bakemonogatari

This series has been confusing for me recently. I heard Bakemonogatari was some wonderful dialogue based story with so much talking there are sometimes still frames of people standing there talking. But then Nisemonogatari, I see copious amounts of toothbrush rape and very erotic positions. And then I heard there another series or something. I assume the protagonist is the same but each season sounds so different from the rest. What exactly is it? What are its strong points? And is the main character a strong character (ei, not Shuu from guilty gear or a standard useless harem protagonist)

And what's with this whole fake sibling thing?

First of all this should be in "Specific Anime Series".
Other then that WATCH at least THE FIRST EPISODE!
I love this anime, why? Because it's unique. The best thing (in my opinion) in this anime is the camera angles.

Eh no because this isn't the same as an anime introduction thread and Bakemonogatari was like 5 years ago.

Also I don't feel like the first episode because the initial summary doesn't interest me.

Somewhat related, i like to watch anime/movies with zero expectations and knowledge about what's it about. That way i'll be either surprised over how bad/good it is.
Don't judge a book by its cover. Watch the first ep and move on from there.

The initial summary has little bearing on the storylines in Bake. That initial summary is a flashback to Kizumonogatari. You can read the LN if you want, its getting a movie...eventually.

There is a lot of talking in both Bake and Nise. The protagonist (Koyomi) is the same for Bake, Nise and Kizu. The strong points of both anime's are the comedy and character relationships.

The animation and erotic parts are a big selling point of both. I think the animation is very well done both in both seasons. The ero parts appear to be a bit of fan service, but not the kind that horribly detracts from the story. HoTD did a great job of pointless fan service.

Watch the first 2 episodes of Bake (Hitagi Crab). Tell us what you think after that.

It's not an experience that's easily forgotten, I'll say that much.
