Sherlock Holmes is present on Hidan no Aria(well at least in the Light Novel)... Let's not forget that Shinichi's Father, Yusaku, is still 1 step ahead on solving cases to shinichi...

Is this a serious question? L single handedly stopped the worlds most brutal serial killer with his reasoning alone. Oh sure, he may have died in the process, but he stacked the deck to win even in the event of his death. Conan looks cute and solves mysteries like Scooby Doo. No contest, L would crush this guy in a head on battle of the minds.

I like to hear people's opinion's on things so that's why I made this post. Honestly I consider L to be the greatest detective.

Holmes is the greatest detective, he could probably have been Kira AND SURVIVED! as well as not having access to the technology that L has.

Greatest detetive? Alucard from Hellsing. The orignal TV series was listed as a mystery somewhere once and as such Alucard is the kick ass detective who shoots everyone he KNOWS is guilty. He doesn't need to deduce who Kira is because he KNOWS who Kira is and as such will hunt him down and shoot holes into Light.

No man he just shot everyone period. Anyway this is easy the greatest detective is N... hey he's the one who didn't die so I guess that means he won, and yes, I did like Near so sue me.
