Characters that should not have died (Spoiler Alert)

First things first, when saying a characters death, spoil it since it is a spoiler for the anime/manga. Now, which characters have you gone "Why did he/she have to die?!?!? Why?!?!"

There's quite a lot in my list, specially in HxH and in Gantz.
Tomoe Mami too from Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica.

You might wanna put a big ass spoiler alert on the thread title, OP. People seeing the titles of anime in this thread they've yet to watch wouldn't be that surprised anymore.

It's kind of a staple in many action works and by extension shonen manga so I don't have exact choices on this.

But I'll go with any death because of Plot Induced Stupidity (a.k.a. idiots forgetting they have something to avoid it, sometimes right in front of them)

None, all characters die for some reason or another. Without their death's then the characters might lose some motivation, or it might hinder the plot in some way.

Usually, when a character dies they lose motivation from the shock.

I probably would go for Tomoe Mami as well.

I was watching that anime with the expectation that its just a normal Mahou Shoujo show maybe a possible death scene but never expected that one of them is gonna be met by such a fate.

I was thinking someone will sacrifice themselves and get stab or shot or something and they pass away not get her head eaten by a giant caterpillar monster - really caught me by surprise.

It did remind me about School Days though.

I just got a few from my list, not sure if many would deem important to them, but they are so to me.



Solty Rei in particular had some good characters and Celica, being one of them, was one of my personal favorites from the show.
