Shounen cliches:
-I don't want to kill my enemies because...blah...blah...
-Make love not war crap...
-Stupid characters with hidden powers (e.g. Naruto, Goku, etc.)
-Training episodes
To make it short, I hate shounens. I prefer to read/watch seinens instead because of most of them have more creative stories and characters.

Whenever anyone does catch a cold it is always potent enough to land them in bed unable even to feed themselves or they stoically keep going until they faint from exhaustion whereupon they have to be carried to the school infirmary.

i don't mind cliches as long as they aren't too repetitive :
every main character in shonem must eat tons of food(Goku,Naruto,Luffy,Hei(DTB) etc)

It's all about how you use those "cliches". TWGOK is a manga full of it, but the author managed to use it in a good way.
And cliches are not to be confused with "tropes".

ummm, well the school trips, or courage tests, I like how some of them work in the end. some I find annoying as the goody-good heroes.

Forget the specifics like beach episodes and happy, childhood memory episodes, the ultimate cliché episodes are fillers. Fillers make animes look longer than they are while making the creators more money. It makes everyone happy (except the annoyed fans who are impatiently waiting for the plot to advance)!
