Does anyone else think that Suzaku now has a Geass since Lelouch proclaimed that Suzaku was a Knight of Rounds beyond the Knights of Rounds? Also, when I heard he was the Knight of Zero, I thought this ...



Also, did anyone else notice that Cornelia's left arm is no longer in a sling?

@ kaimax: Wikipedia states that not only are the Knights not ranked by number (with the exception of Bismarck), but that not all 12 positions are filled.

Lelouch's Geass only works with direct eye contact. I'm sure the electrical impulses and all that shit going on in the transmission of the broadcast disrupt the frequency(?) of the Geass.

If Lelouch loses the throne, it will either be because Schneizel takes it from him, or he abdicates the throne so that someone else can take over. I'm thinking he'll either take the UFN and assimilate it into Britannia, or assimilate Britannia into the UFN. Either way, his goal is still to create a peaceful world and in order to do that he'll have to break the tension between the two sides. Schneizel is obviously gunning for the throne, but the way they describe the brothers' history, I think this will be how Lelouch finally beats his brother. They've been forcing the point that he's never been able to beat him and they've also run the chess references ragged. So it kind of makes sense to me.

I'm not gonna go on a whole rant about philosophy, theology, and all the shit I could rant about. All I am going to say is that people need to chill with the Evangelion comparisons. There may be some parallels on certain levels, but in terms of depth, Evangelion shits all over Code Geass repeatedly. There is only so much that you can talk about in a single episode and even if there were so many things that, looking back, I realize were leading up to the whole Sword of Akasha incident, Code Geass deals in humanism, whereas Evangelion, while covering a broad spectrum of philosophical schools of thought, is concerned more with the existential aspects of the individual and mankind as a whole.

I'm quite impressed with the way they worked the collective consciousness of humanity into the series. More to the point, it was used to illustrate a point. Charles and Marianne were very idealistic in their ambitions. They got the idea that to destroy the lies and conflicts withing the world, they could create a better one. However, the fact of the matter is that society, whether in Code Geass or IRL, is not ready to accept such a state of being. If they had carried out their plan without Lelouch's interference, the world would be peaceful for a little while and then erupt into chaos. There is no future for a society ruled by such an idealistic concept when it places so much emphasis on the very things that make people individuals. Lelouch saw that and he knew that to do such a thing would, in the end, only plunge the world deeper into despair.

I also believe that Charles and Marianne had no clue what would come of their actions anyway. Destroying the fundamental elements that separate individuals, such as conflict and lies, is to tear the very fabric of physical reality. In the end, they got what they wanted. They dissolved their individuality and you saw what came of them. They died and that is, in essence, what stripping yourself of your subjective nature will bring you. Of course, you'll return to the collective consciousness, but there won't be any defining characteristics. You can't be with the dead in such a state because it is an amalgamation of all consciousness in existence.

This is just a theory, but I think Marianne is a reference to Morgause, who's name in earlier works was Anna. She was Arthur's sister and the mother of Mordred, Gareth, and Gawain.
