Well, the wait is over, and it's finally here, the 50-page more of Code Geass.

I have to say, the first chapter was a GREAT disappointment, trying to reuse coronation of Lelouch again, just with different character:
The only twist was at the end of the chapter:

The story takes place in the same official Code Geass history as the anime, but in a different era. The title character, Renya, is a 17-year-old boy with a mechanical left arm and shuriken throwing stars as his weapons of choice. The story begins when Renya encounters a mysterious, perpetually young witch named "Reifū C.C." C.C. has appeared in Japan's historical Edo era to seek a new partner for a covenant. Meanwhile, a mysterious man, with a striking resemblance to the character Lelouch of the original anime, also appears with unknown intentions.

The first chapter was actually quite promising. It's looking like the Lelouch and Suzaku comparisons are only skin deep, though it still bothers me.

I don't hate Code geass, I just got seriously bored.
and I'm just reading it with an objective mind.
and I already watched all the animes first, then read the mangas.
"PM me" if there's something relevant that connects this edo period to the anime
And what's with the english names? translator's fault? or just some stupidity from the author?
I mean Carla, Angie, in the edo period?

and this is far before Britannia invades Japan.
I'm not surprised if Reifu C.C. is the actual C.C. too, and I'm not surprised if Renya is Suzaku's Ancestor.

All I'm saying is, it could be theoretically possible to meet people named like that near the end of Edo period.
Not really sure if I remember correctly, but I'm sure one Portugese ship at a time was allowed to be present in Japan during Tokugawa reign. With hellish restrictions, but was. Another possibility to get them to Edo period Japan.
But to ask from franchise like Code Geass something based on actual history, well... I wouldn't do that.

You can't expect Code Geass to follow the same path line as normal history, as it's an alternate universe. The writer (Taniguchi? or however you spell it) can do whatever he like with the Edo period, because he already did whatever he wanted to America/Brittan/ THE WHOLE WORLD from the get go.
Sometime you have to take things on faith.

hmmm.....after reading the 1st chapter, it looks promising. though the contract failing was kind of unexpected. well, i'm looking forward to chapter 2.

the Original Code Geass was the best, but i never liked all those spinoffs, kinda felt stupid. I dont know if thats my habit of being biased to the original, but the other ones kinda pissed me off. To be honest, i think this is one of the worst. I mean, how far are they going to go? Next one will probably be like 1000 years in the future
