Concerning Animators' Salaries

Over the past few years, Sankaku Complex has presented a few articles about the wages of Japanese animators. I can't help but feel disheartened by this. A mere $10,000 a year!? That seems insane. I can expect that from small companies, but what about KyoAni, or Studio BONES? You'd think those animators would be payed much higher due to the success of their shows, especially KyoAni. It just really depresses me and makes me feel really bad for them.
I almost feel guilt for enjoying anime. It's the product of severely underpaid workers that just makes me feel a little guilty whenever I watch it. I don't know if anyone here has any information about this, but if you could enlighten me, I'd be really appreciative.

Well two things: most animation comes from korea where $10,000 goes a lot farther. Even shows like family guy do there scenes like chicken fights and the musicals in korea.
Second is that there are a lot of people who want jobs as animators so you can pay them less since everyone is easily replacable.
But yes it does suck knowning that someone gets paid so little for there efforts.

This happens in every industry. Off shoring brings in more profits so they do it. You can see this with Xbox and how they have Chinese loli's build their machines for slave pay.
But I do find it sad that animators, who create the stuff that I watch nearly everyday get paid less than the guy flipping burgers at Mcdonalds.

Family guy's banned in Korea...
or is it cancelled?.... I'm not sure about these <----, but what I know for sure is Korea got really pissed with Family Guy's jokes about asian stereotypes.
Ex: Trisha Takanawa: "Diane, I'm standing in front of the Barington Hotel because they don't let asians in.."
Stewie talking to Brian: "I swear to god, I hope the next universe we go to is full of Koreans."

I know that spongebob, King of the Hill (when it was on) and Simpsons are made in korea. There are a lot of animators there because there used to be a lot of piracy going on. They would make knock off cartoons, posters, merchandise, short movies and sell them without giving any money to the makers of the show. Korea is the only country to somewhat start cracking down on piracy, so all those animators now need legit jobs.
