I didn't like season 1 and 2 much. Too childish.
But season 3? I liked it BECAUSE it was different! It was made by the creator of SERIAL EXPERIMENT LAIN!!!
It was dark and that was a GOOD thing! And the smaller cast made the characters MUCH more developed, and 3-dimensional!

Season 2 was... alright, but not great.
Season 3 was an entirely new concept with a brand new cast of characters, but kept most of the voice actors from the first 2 seasons. It was better than the first 2 seasons combined.

In my opinion it was. Some of the characters go through some really dark shit and one even loses her partner. And Tokyo gets taken over by a sentient purple blob which digests everything. That takes up a good 10-15 episodes.
Forgot her name, but I know that character is female and has a puppet.
On a side note, the only two thoughts going through my mind while watching Season 3, the art is all wrong and the fact they were showing it on Cartoon Network on PRIMETIME.
