Where do you buy your anime goods from and why?
If it's an online shop please add the site (i am quite interested in buying) (i hope this topc doesn't go against any rules, if so i give you my apologies)
Well, the only anime goods I purchase most of the time are box sets, and I usually buy those in real life at a Fry's Electronics in Fishers, Indiana. They have a pretty impressive anime selection there. Everything else, be it rare anime or the occasional wall scroll I'll purchase online.
I usually head into the city- there's a good anime-centric shop in there.
I also abhor buying anything online. Don't trust the damned internet. Sounds like an easy way to get ripped off- whereas in real life, you can wallop 'em real good if they try anything.
We dint really have any brick and mortar anime shops where I live. So I scour amazon and eBay for my desires. To bad they don't have any shops here, and friend and I could single-handedly jump start the entire economy
I wish I could go to an anime shop, but it seems that they are all located on the west coast; if anyone knows any good shops on the east coast, please let me know!
So yeah, basically I shop from amazon and otacute.
And there is a figurine section if you're looking for places to shop or deals.
I always prefer to buy my anime goods, be they anime or figurines, online as it's generally cheaper there than at the stores. I'd buy figurines in a shop if I could find a store that actually sold them. Sometimes I'll buy an anime at a store if I want it bad enough, though. Lol.
it's more guaranteed that they'll have the product(s) i want instead of going to an actual shop in RL that may or may not have what i was looking for and is only limited to selling a certain amounts of products.
Seeing as there isn't an "anime" shop anywhere close to where I live, and also due to the fact that I don't own a credit/debit card, I have to rely on Borders/Waldenbooks for my manga needs, and Saturday Matinee[a local DVD store] for my anime needs.
I mainly do the shopping online but if there's a store near where I live, I'll occasionally go there and maybe buy something. Then again I have to weigh which would be cheaper.
Well to actually answer the question now... I buy most of my stuff online due to easier access and usually cheaper prices.
However, at conventions, you can occasionally pick up some pretty sweet deals. The best deals that I've come across are in Akihabara. As long as you are looking for slightly outdated figures (usually ones that are around a year or two old) they tend to be really really cheap.
I never buy from local stores though cause they tend to be priciest.
I would love to buy anime in a real shop but there are few shops and the selection isn't as wide as I would have hoped but they are good. They have a nice selection though.
Online is reliable for variety and that's what I look for.
Both. But mostly on anime shops near my place, it's more economical and saves me the misdelivery grief. I only order online if it's a rarity to find in anime shops, like certain circles' doujins, first volume of some mangas and other DVDs that carries extra goodies, and such.
