Do you find Japanese names comfusing?

I've gotten us to them too but if I went to Japan or japanese class I would be screwed! I get all of the honoring confused when pressured. Watching anime or reading manga no problem.

I don't really find them confusing, I've gotten really used to it.

I have trouble remembering and recalling names in general, and Japanese names are no exception. I regularly have to pause anime during casual conversation/contemplative thought to work out who people are addressing or referring to.

You get used to it. Might take a while though.

i hate it when you watch it from 2 different sub groups where one writes what the character says, and the other use the 1st name, regardless of what is said. Although i usually listen out pretty well since i enjoy the more otaku subs where they point out -san instead of mr, -onee chan instead of big sister etc

It is not so confusing for me probably because i played so many japanese games and watch their movies with my limited Japanese language. So the fastest way for you to adapt is probably keep watching Anime and read their manga slowly but surely you will get used to them.

although i hate using different subs for the same anime because they refer to the characters differently
e.g. sub 1= tachibana-san
sub 2 = mr tachibana
sub 3 = kouta (1st name)
sub 4 = kohta

One thing I don't like is a dubbed one where the carry over the -chan, -san etc, that can really throw me off. Then of course don't they have last names (Family Name) THEN the first name (Given). I can get a little lost and pause it for a moment to decipher what is going on.
