This is a question for all you guys out there(and girls too but mostly for guys), do you like shojo? Anime, manga, whatever, how do you feel about the world of colors and pretty guys. Personally I do like it, I have few series I really like (more so than shounen), and Ouran High Host Club is one of my favorite mangas of all time. So what about you, do you keep in touch with your feminism or are you to manly for that.
Some shoujo have manly men. As such, Usui from Kaichou wa Maido-sama and Sebastian from Kurohitsuji.
There are times when you need a break from the other genres, like over powered fighting shounen stories or heavily ecchi romance comedies(cause you know, alot of stories get outweighed by the fanservice factor).
So yeah, I do like my shoujo stories from time to time.
I'm a sucker for shoujo manga. I like volleyball, so I quite liked "Crimson Hero" and then there was this one about haircutting "Beauty pop" I think everyone should seriously check that one out. And then, lighthearted series like Ouran and Kyo Kara Maoh, are just really funny to watch and seriously entertaining. More so for me than One Piece, Bleach, or Naruto. I like badass series like Claymore too though. :p
During the periods where I really want to read a good romance, I tend to read a lot of shojo since most shounen romances are harems and 90% of all harems suck. Nowadays the only shounens I read are fighting mangas.
For the most part no. but the ones I come across and read/like, those are the ones I consider Gems. Mostly because they turn out Way Better than what I was Expecting them to be.
I do cause in the time it takes to fight out a battle scene(s)/chapter(s) in a shonen manga, can otherwise be spent on character development. I'm not saying that battles are meaningless, just don't spend 18+ pages to get nothing done at all >.<'' That being said it is entirely plausible that the shojo manga will have 18+ pages spent on nothing, not even cool battle scenes... *sigh*
