Wow this anime is awesome expect for the robot that is feaking ugly. The last part of the episode is quite sad because a lot of people dead. I like the main character quote: "who the hell do you think we are"
I don't like the author of this anime kill off simon's brother. Without him this anime is getting serious not funny at all.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is probably the best overall anime that I've seen over the last couple of years, maybe ever. The story, music, characters, and awesome mecha action really just pulled me in from the get-go. I don't think I've ever seen an anime as emotionally gripping as this one (there are many tear jerker moments). The ending is probably the best anime ending I've ever seen . This anime was so good, that I rewatched it right after finishing it...that's how excellent it was.

Overall, an instant classic from the fine folks at Gainax!!

Indeed, this anime is epic. I feel horrible that, due to my life, I had to watch it months after it's over. Indeed, I missed a drinking party and a video game party today to watch this, but I'm so glad I did. In fact, I watched almost all the episodes continuously in one sitting (excepting the first two, which I watched the day before yesterday). The mistranslations bugged me to the point that I switched to watching the HQ raw episodes which I downloaded from the P2P however. Recently I began to find subtitles annoying anyway.

I dunno what else to say. Absolutely epic, as expected from the creators of NGE (which is epic too). Definitely, without fail, one of the best series I've ever watched. Although I didn't like the filler material (skipped them), reason and logic aside (mecha anime never make sense anyway), it's so good it's speechless. And I'm generally very critical, and they really could have done without the Yoko fanservice, but wow. I just had to post in this old thread, because it's that much win.

Its okay friend I started watching it about a month ago up to episode 8 and had put anime off till now I started watching the series again and caught up so much I'm at like episode 15 now. And about the subs thing I actually find them annoying sometimes too especially when the font is unreadable or bad quality text, I thought there was some typo when they first introduced Leeron. Leeron Jenkins LOL!

The translations were pretty bad. In fact, I got so frustrated with them I watched the raws instead, as I wrote. This anime is the epitome of epic. The scale, range, themes, drama etc. The fact that it crosses dimensions and universes (although it's severe make-believe, it's ok), the plot twists, etc.

This really reminded me of Star Ocean 3.

Loved TTGL, seriously. It's the first anime I've watched where the fan-service didn't annoy me, not even a little. I'm generally not drawn to fighting robot series, but it sucked me in 100% from the first episode. And I'm a total Adianne fan-girl, even if she is canonically dead. She was just pure marvelousness.

I've started watching this anime yesterday (a friend of mine told me about it) and it's great! I'm downloading ep 17 right now, when starts the "7 years later" thing. Cannot wait for it :o

Yea, especially the kick ass action scenes are even more epic, it makes you wonder wth how did he drill like that? How did he overcome that guy? Or WTF how he turn into that big ass robot? But it doesn't matter it's mecha. Lol

There was not a single character in there who wasn't bad-ass and willing to sacrifice them selves for the the greater good. As seen in the show they can win even with a 0% chance. Its kinda weird though that that in the update that it said to watch that anime. I started watching before then and I'm glad to see that even the mods know its one Bad-Ass anime. Long live The DAI-GURREN-BRIGADE!

Finished it, loved every single moment.

The final battle is beyond epicness, and the intro to the last episode is like..... Woa.

Every single thing they say is explained always aiming for the main issue, without loosing around with useless things. Again, the final battle produced all over me an infinite amount of shivers, really amazing.

I have a feeling we'll be able to talk about this 10 years into the future. TTGL is what led me to this site, I heard the creator (Jacob) was a huge Gurren Lagann fan, like bigger than the moon Gurren Lagann. Which is why I posted a poll to see which one is better.
