Eden of the Cliffhanger 11

So ends the awesomeness that was called Eden of the East. It kept us glued to our seats for 11 awesome episodes and managed to beautifully resolve everything in the end ...
... apart from the insignificant details of leaving us with a newly crowned (and probably subjected to another memory wipe) king of Japan, a girl with a once all-powerful phone in her pocket and a country in a state of uproar.
Even though I expected nothing short of a cliffhanger/lack of conclusion, the perspective of having to wait for those 2 goddamn movies still makes me rage.
anyways...
Splendid episode (especially the missile attack scene and corresponding music) that made me go *click* in my head as several details fell into place (not so many surprises really but more of a sum up of stuff that was laid out before).
Fatso Pantsu being alive was also nice and the zombie analogy concerning the NEETs was fuken lol. Some depth/uncertainty was also added to the 3 selecado ... and a certain taxi driver.
November suddenly seems so very distant ...
edit: One thing that bothered me. Do you really need a crapload of nekid people to come up with the plan of intercepting incoming missiles with jet-fighters ?

First of, I really wanna comment on how much potential this series has (even now that it has ended, not quite yet) and basically imo, this is simply MOVIE material. It's most definitely suited as a film no doubt and that this 11 episode TV series is simply but a teaser; more of like a prequel to the following two-part movie that Production I.G. has been working on ever since the series even began its broadcast.
God, I'd love to see those movies in actual theaters!!!
Okay, so about the episode itself. It did answer some of my questions, not everything but most of what I was concerned about at the moment. Zero and I were just having a sort of late/panic-discussion on how the series might end and now that I've seen it, I cannot exactly say that I wasn't surprised but this was certainly somewhere along the lines of the finale that I have wanted to see.
As I was saying earlier, I don't consider this much as a cliffhanger. It's just probably my own definition of the word but it didn't exactly ended in such a "suspenseful" way that's usually accompanied with some sort of twist. I rate the ending as borderline inconclusive as there's obviously a lot of things left hidden in the dark. But whatever, it was AWESOME!
To begin with, he knows very well that he's not really the smartest of all people. Even I wouldn't have come up with such an elaborate idea at that given situation. Most likely, he simply wanted to give/share the credit to every NEET who was there. He wasn't exactly trying to become a hero right? In fact, he even acted like the opposite. I'm quite sure that he had never dreamt of becoming one... somewhere along the lines of leading a normal life. Who the fuck needs fame anyway?!
It was funny to actually see Pantsu alive and well. Damn, I think I'm in love again. Not with Pantsu mind you! I was referring to Shiratori. I'm very delighted to see her as well even if for only a few seconds. Then there was the shocker! :shock: The other Selecao, the one whom I referred to as a punk, isn't quite a "punk" as he looked like!? Shit, he's even got a service vehicle. You cannot really judge a character by mere appearance. How many times have I learned that lesson in anime?! :roll: So that explains why he hasn't used a penny's worth for anything. Also, like I've said in my post in the previous episode thread, the series ultimately never lost track of its humor. You must be very aware of what particular scene I'm talking about. :lol:
So what now? Gotta wait a year before we can actually see both movies in subs? Shit, waiting is the one damn thing that I can never be good at! I'll just give it a rest for now, gather some information later, and discuss in the main thread about certain uncertainties, unresolved mysteries, and movie expectations.

So I was laughing, not just from "Zombies!", "They are probably only interested in the 2D", and "Why don't you have a tan?", but from the coincidental parallels that I was going to draw out from this anime.
As for the episode itself:
First, let me say that I'm glad Pantsu is alive; I hope he's got a cute nurse attending to him. Second, I was surprised that the guy who looked like a punk is actually quite different from his appearance. He seems to have been inspired by Akira to take action of some form. Now we have a King in a place that has no kings. It is certainly an interesting development. Could he use that to eliminate the internal connections of the 'system' that let the Selecao have so much power? Either way, he has no need of Juiz if he can spur the NEETs into action so that they become the ones to overturn society.

what really bother me in this episode was the taxi driver....can he be by any chance mister outside ? I mean they showed his hidden face and his smile at the end of the taxidrive....there has to be something about it, he could also be a selecao or the possibility exists that Nr. 01 is mister outside and also participating in the game....but well i am only guess the movie will hopefully show everything.
and having to wait until 28.11.2009 will really be hard but also very delightful once that day has come.
