Pretty much. But I personally think the added background info, particularly on Nagi, is significant.

I was not aware of that. I actually just watched this a couple weeks ago and loved it. Was wishing there was more. Guess I'll watch the movie too then.

Naturally, since it's supposed to be the first "season". Of course, whether we will ever get a second "season" is still up in the air.
