Fall Anime Preview 2010

Do you know who moe is targeted to? Obsessive otaku with no lives. Moe is a guaranteed profit source that doesn't bring huge profits but it will let the company continue on with their next project. It does not bring in the money that anime did in the past. This is because anime is being targeted at niche culture more than anything now instead of making something original for everyone to watch. This cycle causes less anime to be made and less good anime to be made. Anime is increasingly becoming resented in japan because of this and that makes investors not want to invest in anime as they did in the 70s-90s. That once again means less anime and less original anime. It becomes the same shit every time with its target audience staying. Surely you have noticed by now that just about all moe and ecchi anime have the same jokes in them every time and yet you faggots still eat that shit up.

Basically if anime is to continue down this slope it will hit an all time low at one point. Just about every company that participates in mainly moe anime can not afford to mess up any project at all because if they do then their company will go under. Less risks taken so less original good anime will be made and thus anime goes down a slippery slope.

Although there is hope! For example, shows airing during the noitaminA block gain pretty good ratings actually and just about none of those shows have the moe anime look and feel while at the same time they all have an original story line. Original as in the sense that its not all the sameshit. They did take adapt some novels into anime which really can't count as original but I think you get the point. Shows such as Honey and clover, Eden of the East, Trapeze, House of five leaves, Yojo-han, and Shiki aired during this time block.

I would love to go more in depth and make a more coherent post but I got stuff to do.
