Anime: Ergo Proxy. I cannot explain why I love this show so much. All I can say is I not once skipped through a conversation as I do with EVERY OTHER SERIES! The show was a 100% win.
Manga: Sidooh. It is realistic. No fucking superhero bullshit. Its griddy and real. I love it.
Well this isn't my "favorite" anime per se but it will always have a vey special place in my heart. The original season of Pokemon (ahhh sooo many memories) just because of three simple words "pi..ka..CHU!!!"-as said by Pikachu
Welcome To The N.H.K. is a fucking awesome manga... Too bad the anime skipped out on almost half the content... >_>
Man... I can't figure out how people like the manga better. Can someone explain it to me? >.<
I already explained most of the reason in my post you quoted... the anime skips out on half the content the manga has which in my opinion are the emotional bits that made it so much better.

Wth? The manga is just a mockery to everything. I think the anime has better scenes. But that's just my opinion. ^^
Hikaru No Go, because it's a masterpiece.
Hunter X Hunter, because it has great adventuring and genius plots, and it can take many directions.
Dragonball, because it's a classic, and has a great storyline and great characters.
One Piece, because it can make me cry even after 7th time rewatching(in this case, the anime)
Ice Revolution, because I really enjoyed it.
Piano No Mori, because I loved the characters and I love classical music. It also teaches a way of lifein art, because it tries to show that you can't only rely on playing perfectly, but also with heart and with your own style, which applies to every artform.
Solanin, because it's a masterpiece, through and through.
Yu Yu Hakusho, because it made me happy.
Golden Boy, because I'm staying true to it, even though it had it's bizarre moments(golden water).
Air Gear, because it's shameless, epic, cool, stylish, and touching.(this does't apply to the bullshit anime that was cut off at about 0.5 % of the original plot, and furtherly dwindling.).
Hajime No Ippo is my favorite series, I can't get enough of reading it, the sense of humor in it matches mine completely and I really like the character and story development. I like seeing how the art gradually progresses through the series too which is a good thing since I'll admit the artwork in the very first chapters is a little off putting.
Another favorite of mine is Bakuman, I love the artwork and the story. The characters I find really likable too.
but it's one of the under rated that deserves a shot to be an anime.
it's plot is a school. But every student that are enrolled uses magic.
athe protagonist is a normal student, that can't use magic, but ends up enrolling in the school anyway.
for anime, it would be Code Geass Or FSN.
can't choose between the two, as both have thier own good points
